Local Workshops and Tours
You can participate in several on-site guided museum tours and hands-on workshops in the visual arts, including:
Brandywine Art Museum—Tour the museum’s collection, listen to a lecture, and participate in a workshop to learn about drawing techniques.
Longwood Gardens—Visit these renowned gardens and learn to draw flowers with pastels, pencil, and watercolor.
Philadelphia Museum of Art—Two tours are available, one focusing on the Gothic and Renaissance period, and the other concentrating on impressionism and modern art.
Other tours are available for the Barnes Museum, Rodin Museum, and University of Pennsylvania Museum, allowing you to view the works of master artists while learning about the mission of each museum and Philadelphia culture.
International Study Tours
The Art Department also offers one- or two-week study tours, allowing you to tour major cultural centers in countries such as France, Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Greece, Italy, and Belize. You can earn academic credits in art for participating in these tours.
The spring 2017 tour will travel to Spain and Portugal, April 16-24. Visit cultural attractions in Madrid, Salamanca, Porto, and Lisbon. The cost of $3,131 includes round-trip airfare, lodging for seven nights, daily breakfast and dinner, and a professional tour director.
