For over 10 years, Immaculata University and West Chester University (WCU) have worked closely together in a coordinated music therapy training program for WCU music students. This program allows students to complete their degree at WCU while completing all their music therapy courses at Immaculata. In doing this, students complete all their core and music requirements on the WCU campus and travel to the Immaculata campus for all music therapy education and training requirements.
As a music therapy major, WCU students receive all the benefits of a WCU degree while working alongside music therapy students at Immaculata. WCU students can participate in Music Therapy Club meetings, conferences and special events, and are provided with all the music therapy educational experiences an Immaculata student would receive.
All music therapy course advisement is completed by Dr. Eyre (email@example.com) with additional questions regarding WCU courses and sequence coordinated at WCU by Nicole Kemp (firstname.lastname@example.org or (610) 436-3261).
How is the program designed?
Students follow a specially designed sequence that meets WCU and IU degree requirements. Please see the program details.
How do I apply?
Students apply to West Chester University as a music major. Once accepted, they elect to complete the Bachelor of Music degree, with an emphasis in an outside field. During their first semester at WCU, students contact Dr. Eyre, Director of Music Therapy at Immaculata (email@example.com), and arrange an audition/interview for the music therapy program. Once admitted, students follow the same music therapy sequence as Immaculata students.
