Advising for Transfer Students
From the time transfer students enroll in their classes, academic advisors, known as transfer liaisons, work closely with these students to ensure a smooth transition to Immaculata. The academic advisors are located in 26 Villa Maria, Terrace Level.
Evaluation of Transfer Credits
When you apply to Immaculata and submit official transcripts from colleges you have previously attended, you will receive a full evaluation of your transfer credits. The credits are then applied to equivalent IU courses for the liberal arts core, electives and major requirements.
New Student Orientation
After submitting your admissions deposit, you are invited to attend a two-hour Transfer Orientation Event for transfer students. At this session, you will have the opportunity to meet with an academic advisor from your major department to review your transfer credit evaluation and select classes for the upcoming semester. Before leaving the session, you will be registered for your semester classes.
Transfer Liaisons (a.k.a. Pathways Navigators)
To ensure that you make a successful transition to Immaculata and acclimate to the campus, you will be assigned a transfer liaison, also known as a Pathways Navigator, from the Office of Academic Advisement. Your transfer liaison will work one-on-one with you to help guide you during your first semester of study and beyond. Transfer liaisons proactively reach out to students throughout the semester to connect them to appropriate resources on campus and support services to help them succeed.
Transfer liaisons will give you a customized Pathways Plan. The purpose of the Pathways Plan is to help acquaint you with key concepts and resources that will help you build a successful foundation at Immaculata. We encourage you to use your Pathways Plan to be actively engaged in pursuing academic, co-curricular, and extra-curricular opportunities that will help you develop the skills and knowledge to reach your personal goals.
