Music Organizations
American Music Therapy Association Student Chapter
This is an association whose purpose is to gain information about the American Music Therapy Association, the official organization of professional music therapists. The chapter meets at least once a month to discuss issues in Music Therapy and to plan Regional and National Conference attendance. Music service opportunities in the community are also planned.
The Pennsylvania Collegiate Music Educators Association
This is the campus chapter of PCMEA, the Pennsylvania Collegiate Music Educators Association. It connects Immaculata with the Music Educators National Conference (MENC), the world's largest education association, and the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA), the affiliated state organization. Members participate in campus activities and in state, region, and district events as well. PCMEA provides support to the Music Education program by helping undergraduate students to develop leadership skills, to expand their network of professional contacts, and to discover new teaching methods and techniques.
National Music Honor Society
The Department of Music is a member of this music honor society and its local chapter, Delta Psi, recognizes students who are highly motivated scholastically in the theoretical and historical aspects of music. These students must be equally dedicated to achieving success in performance, composition, music education and research. Membership is open to junior, senior and graduate students in majoring in music.
