Academic Interests
My goal is to capture my students' interest in learning and encourage their on-going pursuit of learning. Because of my prior work experience in the software industry, I know the importance of combining academic theory with practice. Therefore I design my courses with a foundation in theory and best practices.
Research Interests
I am interested in recognizing, documenting, and using patterns to
ease the difficulties associated with the software analysis and design
processes. This interest is the basis for my doctoral thesis. I also
have a broad interest in software engineering topics related to the
processes we use to create and evaluate software applications.

My Personal Side
I enjoy reading mystery novels, some science fiction/fantasy novels, literature, and biographies. So I very much enjoy browsing at bookstores while enjoying a cup of coffee. Some of my favorite authors are Margaret Coel, Anne Perry, PD James, Isaac Asimov, Terry Brooks, and Charles Dickens. I especially enjoy Harry Potter. I like solving Sudoku and crossword puzzles. I'm an avid landscape photographer. I "live" the "ups and downs" of all the Philadelphia professional sports teams.
