Robbery Prevention and Response

According to national statistics, armed robbery is on the increase. By definition, armed robbery is the unlawful taking of property from someone by the use of force or the threat of violence. Theft of property should not be confused with robbery. For example, shoplifting is not considered robbery.

Immaculata University Campus Safety & Protection Department presents this page in an effort to minimize the risk of one becoming a victim of robbery. Every measure described on this page may or may not be applicable for every facility; however, there are certain basic preventive measures, which apply to all cash handling situations.
