What is a WA?
The term "WA" means Writing Assistant. Our WA's consult with Immaculata University students in one-on-one Writing Sessions. WA's are also here to answer questions about writing and to guide students in finding and comprehending writing resources.
Becoming a Writing Assistant (WA)
To become a Writing Assistant you must meet the following Criteria for Selection.
- Completion of ENG106 and ENG107 composition classes at IU (or equivalent)
- Cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Application submitted to writing center director
- Writing sample submitted to director
- Interview with director
- Good command of both written and spoken language
- Ability to work one-on-one with a student
- Permission from financial aid for any expected payment
