To the Class of 2012,
You have searched, applied, decided, deposited and now you have arrived! On behalf of the faculty, administration and students, I welcome you to “It's Your Turn, Make Your Move! After months of planning and enthusiasm, we are excited to formally introduce you to Immaculata and your role as a member of this community.
Orientation serves as a guide to assist you in learning about your academic and student life responsibilities, to provide you comfort in getting to know the campus and to introduce your parents and families to your academic home.
As you embark on this journey, I offer the following for your consideration:
Be Responsible – As young adults you are about to engage in a vibrant community enriched with history and tradition. You will gain your education in the classroom, in the residence halls, on the athletic fields and among your friends and peers. Make strong, sensible decisions that support your academic goals and your growth and development.
Challenge Yourself – As you find yourself surrounded by new ideas and people – some of whom will be different than you – take the opportunity to learn more about them and their ideas and you will broaden your own. As adults, we all find ourselves lost, afraid or unsure from time to time, but as you face these challenges, the Immaculata community will support and guide you.
Grow – if you complete the first two, this one will be achieved.
Your experiences at Immaculata will prepare you for a lifetime of faith, learning and service. Enjoy your orientation!
In the Spirit of Immaculata,
John D. Stafford
Dean of Students
