Academic Advisement Session
Academic advising sessions will be held during New Student Orientation to enable students to meet with their advisors and to select courses for the Fall 2008 Semester. Each student is assigned an academic advisor to provide information and guidance in selecting, planning, and completing an academic program.
- Placement Test
- All students must take a mathematics placement test regardless of major. Mathematics placement testing will be conducted during New Student Orientation.
- Foreign language placement will occur during New Student Orientation to determine the level where students' skills can best be applied
- Faculty Advisors will review academic requirements and provide an overview of Immaculata's core curriculum. Advisors will:
- Distribute hand-outs on major degree requirements
- Review course sequence sheets
- Highlight options within curriculum or related minors
- Faculty Advisors will aid students in completing the registration process.
- Faculty/Advisors will distribute schedule materials including: schedule form, course listings, catalog, and course sequence sheet.
- Faculty/Advisors will provide individualized assistance in creating schedules.
- Faculty/Advisors will review schedules, identify alternate courses, if needed, and sign forms.
- Faculty/Advisors, in conjunction with staff from the Registrar's office, will register each student for Fall 2008 courses
- In the other orientation sessions, representatives of the campus will provide information for additional resources on campus such as:
- Campus Ministry
- Career Services
- Clubs and Organizations
- Counseling Services
- Honors Programs
- Internships
- Volunteer Activities
- Writing and Mathematics Center
- Financial Aid
- Academic Support Services
* Arrangements for late registrants will be made if necessary.
