Preparing for Graduate School - Junior Year
If you wish to attend Graduate School immediately upon graduation it is important to complete the following steps during your Junior year.
- Research areas of interest, institutions and programs.
- Talk to advisors, professors and counselors about interests and application requirements.
- Register and prepare for appropriate graduate admission tests.
- Investigate national scholarships.
- Consult with Counseling Services to explore options and utilize available resources.
- Take required admission tests.
- Write for application materials, note deadlines!
- Visit institutions of interest, if possible.
- Write your application essay.
- For medical or law school, you may need to register for the national application or data assembly service most programs use.
- Register for fall admission tests if not satisfied with current scores. (Note: December tests usually fall around finals and also may be too late to meet deadlines.)
