Essick Selected To The PAC Weekly Honor Roll

Freshman Megan Essick was selected to the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) Weekly Honor Roll for women's tennis for the week ending October 21.  It was the second time this season she has earned the distinction.

Essick produced a mark of 2-0 at #2 singles and a 2-0 record at #1 doubles for the week.  She won 6-2, 6-0 vs. Kristy Bannon of Rosemont College on October 15 and totaled a 6-2, 6-0, victory over Ashley Averbach of Penn State - Berks on October 17.

In doubles action, Essick, along with junior Margaret Kelley, defeated the tandem of Priyanka Reddy and Bannon from Rosemont 8-6 and collected an 8-4 win over Nicole Cresswell and Bannon of Penn State - Berks.

Essick recorded a mark of 8-6 at #1 singles and a record of 2-0 at #2 singles.  In doubles action, Essick, along with Kelley, registered a mark of 9-3 at #1 doubles.

 

Immaculata Falls In Season Finale

Immaculata University women's tennis fell to Penn State - Berks 5-4 in the 2007 regular season finale on Wednesday, October 17, in Reading, Pennsylvania.

Junior Margaret Kelley recorded a 6-2, 6-1, win at #1 singles, while freshman Megan Essick collected a 6-2, 6-0, victory at #2 singles.  Sophomore Renae Padamonsky registered a 6-2, 6-4, victory at #6 singles.

In doubles action, the tandem of Kelley and Essick totaled an 8-4 win at #1 doubles.

The Mighty Macs finish the 2007 campaign with a mark of 3-13 overall and a record of 1-9 in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference.

 

Mighty Macs Snap Losing Skid

Immaculata University women's tennis team defeated Rosemont College 8-1, in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Monday, October 15, in the last home match of the season.

Freshman Megan Essick recorded a 6-2, 6-0, win at #2 singles, while junior Amanda Wilson totaled a 6-1, 6-2, win at #3 singles.  Junior Kristen East posted a 6-1, 7-5, win at #4 singles.

In doubles action, the duo of junior Margaret Kelley and Essick registered an 8-6 victory at #1 doubles.

Immaculata returns to action on Wednesday, October 17, when they travel to face Penn State - Berks in the last game of the 2007 season.  First serve is set for 4 pm.

 

Cavaliers Defeat Mighty Macs

Immaculata University women's tennis team fell to Cabrini College 8-1, in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Saturday, October 13, in Radnor, PA.

Freshman Megan Essick and junior Margaret Kelley posted an 8-3 victory over Megan Simmons and Christine Telling at #1 doubles.  Essick fell to Carolyn Wilson 6-2, 6-2, at #1 singles, while Kelley dropped a 6-1, 6-4 decision to Simmons at #2 singles.

The Mighty Macs (2-12) return to action on Monday, October 15, when they host Rosemont College in the final home match of the season.  First serve is set for 3:30 pm.

 

Misericordia Tops Immaculata

Immaculata University women's tennis team fell to Misericordia University 7-2 in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Wednesday, October 10, in Immaculata, PA.

Freshman Megan Essick recorded a 6-2, 6-4 win over Maura Haupt at #1 singles, while junior Margaret Kelley dropped a 6-0, 5-7, 7-6 (6-4) decision to Sarah Gollis at #2 singles.

In doubles action, the duo of Essick and Kelley defeated the tandem of Courtney Otto and Haupt, 8-4, at #1 doubles.

The Mighty Macs (2-11, 0-8 PAC) return to action on Saturday, October 13, when they travel to face Cabrini College.  First serve is set for 1 pm.

 

Mighty Macs Fall To Eastern University

Immaculata University women's tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision to Eastern University in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Saturday, October 6, in St. David's, PA.

Junior Amanda Wilson recorded a 6-3, 6-1 win at #4 singles, while fellow junior Erika LaMarch collected a 6-1, 6-1 victory at #6 singles.  Freshman Kim DeYoung dropped a tough 7-5, 6-2 decision at #5 singles, while junior Margaret Kelley fell 7-5, 6-4 at #2 singles.

In doubles action, the duo of freshman Megan Essick and Kelley lost 9-7 at #1 doubles.

The Mighty Macs return to action on Wednesday, October 10, when they host Misericordia University.  First serve is set for 3:30 pm.

Immaculata University women's tennis team dropped a 7-2 decision to the College of Notre Dame in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Monday, October 1, in Baltimore, Maryland.

Freshman Megan Essick posted a 7-5, 6-2, victory at #1 singles, while junior Erika L. LaMarch recorded an 8-3 win at #6 singles.  Freshman Kimberly DeYoung lost an 8-6 decision at #5 singles.

In doubles action, the duo of junior Margaret Kelley and Essick fell 8-1 at #1 doubles.

Immaculata (2-8, 0-5 PAC) returns to action on Thursday, October 4, when they travel to face Gwynedd-Mercy College.  First serve is set for 4 pm.

 

Cedar Crest Defeats Immaculata 9-0

Immaculata University women's tennis team fell to Cedar Crest College 9-0, in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Saturday, September 29, in Immaculata, PA.

Freshman Megan Essick lost 0-6, 6-4, 6-4 to Maria Mallery at #1 singles, while junior Amanda Wilson dropped a 6-1, 6-1 decision to Laura Shively at #2 singles.  Junior Erika L. LaMarch fell 7-6 (7-1), 6-1 Sarah Schopf at #5 singles.

In doubles action, the duo of Essick and Wilson lost 8-1 to the team of Colleen Ford and Shively at #1 doubles.

The Mighty Macs (2-7, 0-4 PAC) return to action on Thursday, October 4, when they travel to face Gwynedd-Mercy College.  First serve is set for 4 pm.

 

Mighty Macs Fall To The Knights Of Neumann

Immaculata University women's tennis team fell to Neumann College 6-3, in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Thursday, September 27, in Immaculata, PA.

Freshman Megan Essick recorded a victory over Katie Nell at #1 singles 6-0, 6-0, while junior Margaret Kelley earned a 6-1, 6-4 win over Allison Trout at #2 singles.

In doubles action, the duo of Essick and Kelley totaled an 8-4 victory over the team of Rachel Coladonato and Trout at #1 doubles.

The Mighty Macs (2-6, 0-3 PAC) return to action on Saturday, September 29, when they host Cedar Crest College.  First serve is set for 12 pm.

Freshman Megan Essick was selected to the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) Weekly Honor Roll for women's tennis for the week ending September 23.

Essick produced a mark of 2-0 at #1 singles and a 2-0 record at #1 doubles for the week.  She won 6-0, 6-0 vs. Alicia Kline of Philadelphia Biblical University on September 20 and totaled a 7-6 (7-4), 7-5 victory over Corey Mazen of Arcadia University on September 22.

In doubles action, Essick, along with junior Margaret Kelley, defeated the tandem of Andrea Croucher and Jocelyn Palmer from Philly Bible 8-0.  They also earned an 8-4 victory over Danielle Klim and Mazen from Arcadia.

For the year, Essick has totaled a mark of 5-2 at #1 singles and a record of 3-4 at #1 doubles.

 

Chestnut Hill Slips Past Immaculata

Immaculata University women's tennis team fell to Chestnut Hill College 5-4, in non-conference action on Tuesday, September 25, in Immaculata, Pennsylvania.

Freshman Megan Essick earned a 6-1, 6-0, win over Cara Wallin at #1 singles, while junior Margaret Kelley recorded a 6-0, 6-1, win at #2 singles.  Junior Erika L. LaMarch posted a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Lisa Graeber at #6 singles.

In doubles action, the tandem of Essick and Kelley registered an 8-2 win at #1 doubles.

The Mighty Macs (2-5) return to action on Thursday, September 27, when they host Neumann College.  First serve is set for 4 pm.

 

Arcadia Upends Immaculata On Family Day

Immaculata University women's tennis team fell to Arcadia University 6-3, in non-conference action on Saturday, September 22, in Immaculata, Pennsylvania.

Freshman Megan Essick recorded a 7-6 (7-4), 7-5 victory over Corey Mazen at #1 singles, while junior Margaret Kelley collected a 6-4, 6-0 win over Danielle Klim at #2 singles.

In doubles action, the duo of Essick and Kelley registered an 8-4 victory at #1 doubles.

Immaculata (2-4) returns to action on Tuesday, September 25, when they host Chestnut Hill College.  First-serve is set for 4 pm.

 

Immaculata Upends Philadelphia Biblical

Immaculata University women's tennis team defeated Philadelphia Biblical University 8-1 in non-conference action on Thursday, September 20, in Immaculata, Pennsylvania.

The Mighty Macs swept all six singles matches, as freshman Megan Essick recorded a 6-0, 6-0 win #1 singles.  Junior Margaret Kelley garnered her first win of the season a 6-0, 6-0, victory at #2 singles, while junior Amanda Wilson registered a 6-1, 6-2 victory at #3 singles.  Junior Kristen East secured a 6-0, 6-0 win at #4 singles, while fellow junior Erika L. LaMarch posted a 6-0, 6-1 victory at #5 singles.  Sophomore Renae Padamonsky rounded out the scoring with a 6-0, 6-1 win at #6 singles.

In doubles action, the duo of Essick and Kelley captured an 8-0 win at #1 doubles, while the tandem of LaMarch and freshman Kimberly DeYoung totaled an 8-1 victory at #3 doubles.

The Mighty Macs (2-3) return to action on Saturday, September 22, when they host Arcadia University.  First serve is set for 1 pm.

 

Mighty Macs Fall At Alvernia

Immaculata University women's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision to Alvernia College in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) on Saturday, September 15, in Reading, PA.

Freshman Megan Essick lost 6-1, 3-6, 10-8 to Jenny McKee at #1 singles, while Amanda Wilson fell 7-6 (8-6), 6-1 to Samantha Bader at #4 singles.

In doubles action, the duo of junior Kristen East and Essick dropped an 8-4 decision to Hannah Dickey and McKee at #1 doubles, while the tandem of junior Erika L. LaMarch and Wilson lost 8-2 at #2 doubles.

The Mighty Macs (1-3, 0-2 PAC) return to action on Thursday, September 20, when they host Philadelphia Biblical University.  First-serve is set for 4 pm.

 

Immaculata Earns First Win Of The Season

Immaculata University women's tennis team defeated Albright College 5-4 on Thursday, September 13, in Immaculata, Pennsylvania.

Freshman Megan Essick recorded a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Lisa Archibald at #1 singles, while freshman Amanda Wilson collected a 6-2, 6-2, win over Stacy Bampton at #2 singles.  Junior Erika LaMarch earned a 6-3, 2-6, 7-6 (7-5) win at #5 singles, while freshman Kimberly DeYoung totaled a 6-2, 1-6 (7-3) victory at #6 singles.

In doubles action, the duo of DeYoung and LaMarch registered an 8-5 win at #3 doubles to propel the Mighty Macs (1-2) to their first win of the season.

Immaculata returns to action on Saturday, September 15, when they travel to face Alvernia College.  First serve is set for 1 pm.

 

Immaculata Drops Home Opener

Immaculata University women's tennis team dropped a tough 5-4 decision to Marywood University on Wednesday, September, 10 in Immaculata, Pennsylvania.

Freshman Megan Essick recorded a 6-3, 6-4 win at #1 singles, while junior Kristen East registered a 6-4, 6-7, 7-6 (7-5) victory at #2 singles.  Freshman Kimberly DeYoung earned her first career win with a 2-6, 6-4, 7-6 (10-8) victory at #4 singles, while junior Erika L. LaMarch collected a 6-2, 4-6, 7-6 (11-9) win at #6 singles.

In doubles action, the tandem of junior Amanda Wilson and LaMarch suffered an 8-4 loss at #3 doubles.

The Mighty Macs (0-2) return to action on Thursday, September 13, when they host Albright College.  First serve is set for 4 pm.

 

Mighty Macs Fall In Season Opener

Immaculata University women's tennis team fell to DeSales University 9-0, in non-conference action on Thursday, September 6, in Center Valley, Pennsylvania.  It was the season opener for the Mighty Macs.

Junior Amanda Wilson fell at #2 singles 6-0, 6-1, while fellow junior Jennifer Hildebrand dropped a 6-0, 6-1 decision at #6 singles.

In doubles action, the team of junior Margaret Kelley and freshman Megan Essick lost 8-2 to Courtney McClurkin and Mary Kate McElvaney at #1 doubles.

Immaculata returns to action on Tuesday, September 11, when they host Marywood University.  First serve is set for 4 pm.

 

Kelley Named To Push The Rock All-Sportsmanship Team

 

Sophomore Margaret Kelley was named to the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) Push the Rock Sportsmanship Team. The award was announced on October 23, in Aston, PA.

Kelley, who along with senior Lauren Piliero, advanced to the PAC Championships, finished the season with an overall singles mark of 6-7 and an overall doubles record of 6-8. Kelley and Piliero fell 8-1 in the first round of #1 doubles action at the PAC Championships on October 20.

Sophomore Margaret Kelley and senior Lauren Piliero fell in the first round of doubles competition at the 2006 Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) Women's Tennis Championships. The championships are being held on Friday, October 20 and Sunday, October 22, at the West End Racquet Club in Allentown, PA.

The Mighty Macs duo of Kelley and Piliero lost 8-1 to the tandem of Priyanka Reddy and Kristy Bannon from Rosemont College at #1 doubles. Kelley and Piliero finished the season with a mark of 6-8 at #1 doubles.
