Immaculata Runs At Elizabethtown Invitational

Immaculata University women's cross country team participated at the 2007 Elizabethtown College Invitational held on Saturday, October 20, at the Elizabethtown Fairgrounds in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania.

Junior Corey Phillipeck completed the 4k course in a time of 19:42 to place 99th.  Freshman Endurance Poku-Maboah finished 101st (20:30), while sophomore Mary Pat Mauer ran to a time of 21:09 to place 106th overall.  Junior Meghan Wood finished 111th (21:52), while senior Ruth Tarazona rounded out the scoring for the Mighty Macs with a time of 21:56 good enough for 112th.

Individually, Erin Fisher of Elizabethtown won then invitational with a time of 14:16.

As a team, Immaculata finished 16th out of 16 teams.

 

Immaculata Participates At Cabrini College Invitational

Immaculata University women's cross country team ran at the Cabrini College Invitational on Saturday, October 13, at the Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Sophomore Mary Pat Mauer finished the 5k course in a time of 26:07 to place 90th overall.  Sophomore Amber Thompson placed 94th with a time of 26:29, while junior Meghan Wood finished 107th overall with a time of 27:58.  Senior Ruth Tarazona finished 116th (29:29).

Individually, Heather Miara won the invitational in a time of 19:26.34.

The Mighty Macs return to action on Saturday, October 20, when they run at the Elizabethtown College Invitational.

 

Mighty Macs Run At Gwynedd-Mercy

Immaculata University women's cross country team participated at the 2007 Gwynedd-Mercy College Invitational at Fort Washington State Park in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania.

Junior Corey Phillipeck finished 12th out of 26 runners with a time of 25:27.4.  Junior Mary Woods placed 15th in a time of 26:17.0, while sophomore Mary Pat Mauer finished 20th with a time of 27:17.7.  Freshman Endurance Poku-Maboah placed 22nd with a time of 27:48.2.  Senior Ruth Tarazona rounded out the scoring with a 23rd-place finish in a time of 28:51.1.

As a team, the Mighty Macs scored 130 points to place fourth out of five teams.  Delaware Valley College nipped Gwynedd-Mercy to win the invitational.

 

Immaculata Competes At Belmont Classic

Immaculata University men's cross country team competed at the 2007 Belmont Classic Cross Country Invitational on Saturday, September 29, at the Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Junior Corey Phillipeck placed 59th overall with a time of 24:31.12, while fellow junior Mary Woods finished the 5,000-meter course in a time of 25:43.12.  She finished 70th overall.  Sophomore Mary Pat Mauer placed 89th (27:41.05) and junior Meghan Wood finished 99th with a time of 28:20.54.  Sophomore Amber Thompson finished the scoring for the Mighty Macs with a 101st-place finish (28:26.75).

As a team, Immaculata placed 11th out of 22 teams.

The Mighty Macs return to action on Saturday, October 6, when they participate at the Gwynedd-Mercy College Invitational.  Start time is set for 10:00 am.

 

Mighty Macs Run At Philadelphia Metro Invitational

Immaculata University women's cross country team competed at the 2007 Philadelphia Metro Cross Country Invitational on Saturday, September 22, at the Belmont Plateau in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Junior Corey Marie Phillipeck placed 94th out of 150 runners with a time of 25:20.5, while fellow junior Orfa Tarazona finished the 5,000-meter race in a personal best time of 25:21.7.  She finished 95th overall.  Junior Mary Woods recorded a personal best time of 25:54.8 to place 103rd, while freshman Endurance Poku-Maboh finished 111th in a personal best time of 26:30.9.  Junior Meghan Wood rounded out the scoring with a 125th-place finish.  Her time of 28:42.9 was a personal best.

As a team, the Mighty Macs totaled 416 to place 15th out of 22 schools.  Georgian Court University won the invitational.

 

Mighty Macs Compete At Mule/Falcon Invitational

Immaculata University women's cross country team competed at the 2007 Mule/Falcon Invitational hosted by Cedar Crest College and Muhlenburg University on Saturday, September 15, in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

Junior Orfa Tarazona ran to a personal time of 25:29.1 to place 55th, while junior Mary Woods finished 63rd with a personal best time of 26:12.8.  Sophomore Mary Pat Mauer placed 57th (28:03.9), while sophomore Amber Thompson finished in a personal best time of 28:07.3 for 77th overall.  Junior Meghan Wood finished 79th in a personal best time of 28:56.

As a team, the Mighty Macs totaled 250 points to place ninth overall.  Muhlenburg won the invitational.

Immaculata returns to action on Saturday, September 15, when they participate the Philadelphia Metropolitan Championships.

 

Mighty Macs Place Seventh At Keystone Invitational

Immaculata University women's cross country team placed seventh at the Keystone College Invitational on Saturday, September 8, in Factoryville, Pennsylvania.

Junior Corey Marie Phillipeck crossed the finish line first for the Mighty Macs in a time of 35:15.69.  She placed 24th out of 62 runners.  Fellow junior Orfa Tarazona completed the 5k race with a time of 37:10.58, to finish 33rd overall.  Sophomore Mary Pat Mauer placed 35th (37:39.31), while sophomore Amber Thompson finished 42nd with a time of 40:09.05.  Senior Ruth Tarazona rounded out the scoring for Immaculata as she placed 47th in a time of 42:44.18.

As a team, the Mighty Macs placed seventh out of eight teams.  Wilmington College won the Invitational.

Immaculata returns to action on Saturday, September 15, when they participate in the Cedar Crest Invitational.

 

Immaculata Opens Season At Marywood

Immaculata University women's cross country team opened the 2007 season at the Marywood University Invitational on Saturday, September 1, in Scranton, Pennsylvania.

As a team, the Mighty Macs placed fifth out of five squads.

Junior Mary Woods finished the 6,000-meter course in a time of 31:36.86 for 26th place.  Sophomore Mary Pat Mauer finished 28th with a time of 32:14.92, while junior Orfa Tarazona placed 34th (37:58.04).  Sophomore Amber Thompson crossed the finished line in 35th place with a time of 39:01.43, while senior Ruth Tarazona rounded out the scoring for Immaculata with a 38th-place (40:35.95) finish.

The Mighty Macs return to action on Saturday, September 8, when they participate in the Keystone College Invitational.

 

Mighty Macs Slated To Finish Seventh

Immaculata University's women's cross country team has been selected to finish seventh in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) pre-season poll. The poll was released on Thursday, August 30, by the conference office in Aston, PA.

The Mighty Macs are slated to place seventh in the nine-team conference.

Marywood University was selected as the pre-season favorite. The Pacers received eight of the nine first-place votes for a total of 80 points.  Gwynedd-Mercy College placed second with 71 points and was followed by Misericordia University with 65 points.  Cedar Crest College (48) finished fourth, while Alvernia College (45) rounded out the top-five.

Cabrini College (36), Eastern University, and Centenary College (18) rounded out the voting.

The Mighty Macs open the 2007 season at the Marywood University Invitational on Saturday, September 1.

Mighty Macs Place Seventh At PAC Championships

Immaculata University women's cross country team placed seventh at the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) Cross Country Championships on Saturday, October 28. The championships were hosted by College Misericordia in Dallas, PA.

Junior Kelly Baker finished 15th out of 74 runners to pace the Mighty Macs. She finished the 5k course in a time of 23:39. Senior Liz Crowe placed 30th with a time of 25:27, while sophomore Corey Phillipeck finished 38th (26:09). Freshman Mary Pat Mauer placed 44th (27:34) and senior Ruth Tarazona finished 52nd (28:41) to round out the scoring for Immaculata.

Individually, Paige Jablonski of Marywood University won the PAC Championships with a time of 20:53, while Carolyn Roberts from Cabrini College placed second (21:12).

As a team, the Mighty Macs placed seventh out of nine teams. Immaculata totaled 162 points, just nine points shy of Cabrini for sixth place. Marywood won the PAC Championships with 35 points, while Gwynedd-Mercy College (64) placed second.
