
Murray Named First Team All-PAC, While Legere Is Selected To The Second Team
Immaculata University's Dominique Murray has been named a First Team All-Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) honoree. The All-PAC awards were announced on Tuesday, February 27, at the conference office in Aston, PA.
The sophomore led both the team and the PAC in rebounding (10.7) and led the Mighty Macs in scoring (16.5) and finished third in the PAC in that category. Joining Murray as an All-PAC member was senior Meg Legere. Legere placed second on Immaculata in both scoring (15.9) and rebounding (8.6). In the conference, she finished sixth in scoring and fifth in both rebounding and field goal percentage (47.0).
Murray collected a career-high 31 points on three occasions and pulled down a career-best 20 rebounds vs. Alvernia College on December 2. She also scored 31 points on that day. Murray garnered seven double-doubles and grabbed 15 or more rebounds seven times. She shot a career-best 15-16 from the foul line vs. Eastern University on February 12 and posted five assists vs. Alvernia.
Legere became the 16th player in school history to amass 1,000 or more career points. She finished her stellar four-year career seventh on the all-time list with 1,241 points. Legere scored double-figures in 21 of the 26 games she played, including a career-high 32 points vs. Cedar Crest on December 4. She totaled 20 or more points on eight occasions and registered 10 double-doubles. Legere also established a career-best from the field, as she shot 13-17 for 76.5% vs. Cedar Crest.
Murray was a two-time PAC Player of the Week, while Legere was selected to the PAC Player of the Week Honor Roll.
Junior Nina Cammarano was selected to the Push The Rock All-Sportsmanship team.
The Mighty Macs finished the 2006-07 season with a mark of 15-11 overall. It was the second consecutive winning season and second straight trip to the conference playoffs for Immaculata.
Hicks Is Fourth In The Nation In Assists
Sophomore Kasey Hicks recorded 166 (6.4) assists for the season. She led both the team and the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) in that category. Hicks also placed fourth in the NCAA Division III rankings. Symbri Tuttle from McMurry University led the nation with 217 assists (7.8).
Immaculata Falls To Alvernia In PAC Playoffs
Immaculata University fell to Alvernia College 81-59, the opening round of the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) playoffs on Monday, February 19, in Reading, PA. The Mighty Macs were seeded #6, while the Crusaders were seeded #6.
Senior Meg Legere recorded a team-high 21 points, while fellow senior Mary Kate Pawlowski totaled 14 points. Sophomore Dominique Murray added nine points and 15 rebounds, while sophomore Kasey Hicks collected nine assists.
Legere finished her four-year career with 1,241 career points, which placed her seventh all-time on Immaculata's scoring list.
Lauren Fortna garnered a game-high 25 points, while Michelle Lutzkanin registered 22 points to pace Alvernia (16-10).
The Mighty Macs completed the 2006-07 season with a mark of 15-11.
Murray Named PAC Co-Player Of The Week
For the second time this season, sophomore Dominique Murray has been named the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) Player of the Week, for the week ending February 19. This week she shares the honor with Amy Hughes from College Misericordia. The award was announced at the conference office in Aston, PA.
Murray averaged 25.0 ppg and 16.0 rpg, for the Mighty Macs in a 1-1 conference week. In the 58-42 win over Eastern University on February 12, Murray collected her sixth double-double of the season. She tied her career high with 31 points and also pulled down 15 rebounds. She went 15-16 from the foul line in that game. In the 71-65 loss to Neumann College on February 15, Murray amassed her seventh double-double with a 19-point, 12-rebound effort. For the week, she shot 51.9% from the floor and 81.4% from the foul line.
Murray leads the team in both scoring (16.9) and rebounding (10.9).
Mighty Macs Fall To Neumann 71-65 in Season Finale; Will Travel To Alvernia
Immaculata University fell to Neumann College 71-65, in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Thursday, February 15, in Aston, PA. It was the season finale for both squads.
The Mighty Macs fell to 15-10 overall and 10-6 in the conference, while the Knights improved to 17-8 overall and 11-5 in the PAC.
Sophomore Dominique Murray collected a double-double with 19 points and 17 rebounds, while senior Meg Legere recorded 21 points on 8-11 from the field. Sophomore Kasey Hicks amassed eight points, seven assists and three steals.
With the score knotted at 16-16 with 15:24 left in the first half, Immaculata used a 7-1 run to post a 23-17 lead with 9:43 remaining. However, Neumann used a 17-5 run to grab a 34-28 lead with 3:01 left in the opening stanza. They held on for a 34-33 halftime lead.
With the Mighty Macs holding a 46-45 lead with 12:39 left in the second half, the Knights used a 23-10 run to record a 68-56 lead with 2:28 remaining. Immaculata pulled to within five points, 70-65, with 0:11 left, but Neumann held on for the 71-65 victory.
Ashley Pearsall and Brittany Whetts each totaled 14 points for Neumann.
Eventhough, Immaculata fell in the season finale its season will continue. The Mighty Macs will travel to face Alvernia College in the PAC Quarterfinal round on Monday, February 19. Tip-off is set for 7 pm.
Immaculata Storms Past Eastern, 58-42
On a night when the seniors were honored, the Immaculata University women's basketball team defeated Eastern University 58-42 in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Monday, February 12, in Alumnae Hall.
Immaculata improved to 15-9 overall and 10-5 in the PAC.
"Senior night is always an emotional night, but I thought our team came out focused and played a strong 1st half," said head coach Patty Canterino.
The Mighty Macs held Eastern to 13 points in the first half and posted a 33-13 lead at the half. They extended their lead to a game high 21 points, 55-34, at the 5:38 mark of the second half and cruised to a 58-42 victory.
Senior Meg Legere recorded 11 points and eight rebounds, while fellow senior Mary Kate Pawlowski collected eight points and tied her career high with 12 rebounds. Sophomore Dominique Murray tied her career high with 31 points and also added 15 rebounds. Murray totaled three steals and two blocks, while sophomore Kasey Hicks amassed eight assists.
"Dom Murray was force in the middle and did a great job from the foul line," stated Canterino.
Murray went 15-16 from the charity stripe.
Jacey Bray paced the Eagles (3-20, 2-13 PAC) with 16 points.
Mighty Macs Fall To Cabrini College
Immaculata University dropped a 40-34 decision to Cabrini College, in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Saturday, February 10, in Alumnae Hall.
The Mighty Macs fell to 14-9 overall and 9-5 in the PAC.
Senior Meg Legere collected a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds, while sophomore Dominique Murray recorded eight points and 10 rebounds. Murray also totaled four assists, while senior Mary Kate Pawlowski pulled down 10 rebounds.
After a back and forth first half, the Mighty Macs trailed 17-16 at the half. The Cavaliers (16-7, 12-3 PAC) used a 15-2 run to post a 32-19 lead with 9:34 left in the second half. Immaculata scored the next eight points to pull within five, 32-27, with 5:32 remaining, but Cabrini returned the favor and pushed its lead back to 10, 37-27, with 2:36 left. The Mighty Macs were able to pull within five points once again, 37-32, with 0:36 remaining, but the Cavaliers held on for the 40-34 victory.
Kate Ryan paced Cabrini with 11 points, while Kayleen Smith added nine points and 10 rebounds.
Immaculata Earns Playoff Berth With 65-54 Win Over Rosemont
Senior Meg Legere collected a double-double as Immaculata University defeated Rosemont College 65-54, to earn a spot in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) playoffs on Thursday, February 8, in Rosemont, PA.
The Mighty Macs improve to 13-8 overall and 9-4 in the PAC. They have won five in a row and eight of their last nine.
Legere totaled 15 points and 11 rebounds, while sophomore Dominique Murray also recorded a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Sophomore Kasey Hicks amassed 12 points, eight rebounds and eight assists, while senior Mary Kate Pawlowski registered eight points. Junior Nina Cammarano garnered nine points, three assists and one steal.
The Mighty Macs scored the game's first 10 points, as the Ramblers did not get on the board until the 15:35 mark. Immaculata pushed its lead to 22-9 with 9:11 remaining and held on for a 28-21 halftime lead.
Rosemont cut the deficit to 32-29 with 16:45 remaining, but the Mighty Macs went on an 11-2 run to post a 43-31 lead with 12:54 left in the second half. The Ramblers were able to cut it to five, 43-38, with 10:59 remaining, but that would be as close as they would get as Immaculata cruised down the stretch to a 65-54 victory.
Andrea Boyle paced Rosemont (8-14, 3-11) with a game-high 19 points.
Pawlowski Leads Immaculata To Fourth Straight Victory
Senior Mary Kate Pawlowski recorded a game-high 26 points as Immaculata University defeated Wilson College 73-41 in non-conference action on Tuesday, February 6, in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.
Pawlowski, who was 12-16 from the floor, was the only IU player to score in double-digits, as 11 other Mighty Macs contributed to the win. Junior Nina Cammarano totaled eight points, while sophomore Dominique Murray amassed seven points and five rebounds. Freshman Erica Massenburg posted a career-high six points, while fellow freshman Shana Kehoe established a career high with three steals. Sophomore Kasey Hicks totaled five points, six assists, four steals, and a career-high 12 rebounds, while senior Meg Legere collected six points. Legere has collected 1,163 career points and is 11th on Immaculata's all-time scoring list.
The Mighty Macs scored the game's first 15 points en route to a 45-18 halftime lead. Immaculata started the second half with a 16-5 run to post a 61-23 lead, the largest of the game, at 12:37. The Mighty Macs cruised over the final 12 minutes for the 73-41 win, their eighth victory in their last 10 games.
Canesha Gibbs paced the Phoenix with 12 points.
Murray Ties Her Career High As Immaculata Wins Third Straight
Sophomore Dominique Murray tied her career high with 31 points, as Immaculata University won its third straight contest with a 68-52 victory over Wesley College in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Monday, January 5, in Alumnae Hall.
The Mighty Macs, who have won six of their last seven games, improve to 12-8 overall and 8-4 in the PAC.
In addition to her 31 points, Murray, the PAC Player of the Week, also pulled down a game-high 19 rebounds to collect her fourth double-double of the season.
"Dom played a great game," head coach Patty Canterino said. "We were able to get the points down low when we needed them."
Senior Meg Legere recorded 18 points, while sophomore Kasey Hicks registered 11 assists. Hicks also collected five points and six rebounds.
Trailing 20-16 with 10:23 left, Immaculata used a 10-0 run to grab a 26-20 lead with 6:30 remaining. However, the Wolverines scored the next seven points to take a 27-26 lead with 4:25 remaining. The half ended with the score knotted at 36-36.
The Mighty Macs held Wesley scoreless until 11:54 of the second half. Immaculata held a 45-37 lead at that point. The Wolverines knotted the game at 45-45 with 9:54 left, but Immaculata used a 23-7 run to close the game and earn the 68-52 victory.
After scoring 36 points in the first half, Wesley was held to only 16 in the second half.
"I was proud of the way we came out strong in the second half," stated Canterino. "Our defense and our effort was much better."
Domonique Barrett paced Wesley (6-15, 4-9 PAC) with 13 points.
Dominique Murray Earns PAC Player Of The Week Honors
Sophomore Dominique Murray was named the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) Player of the Week for the week ending February 5. The award was announced at the conference office in Aston, PA.
Murray averaged 18.0 ppg and 11.0 rpg, for the Mighty Macs in an undefeated (2-0) conference week. In the 75-52 win over Neumann on January 29, Murray collected her third double-double of the season with 23 points and 17 rebounds. She shot 58.3% (7-12) from the floor in that contest. Murray recorded 13 points in the 59-54 victory over Arcadia on Thursday.
Murray leads the team in rebounding (9.3) and is second on the squad in scoring (16.2).
Mighty Macs Grind Out Tough Win Over Arcadia
Immaculata University held off Arcadia University to earn a 59-54 victory in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Thursday, February 1, in Glenside, PA.
Senior Meg Legere recorded a game-high 26 points, while sophomore Dominique Murray added 13. Senior Mary Kate Pawlowski collected seven points, while Legere added nine rebounds.
Trailing 10-4 at 15:08 of the first half, the Mighty Macs used a 13-3 run to grab a 17-13 lead with 9:02 remaining in the opening stanza. The Knights were able to knot the game at 19-19, before Immaculata took a 23-20 lead into intermission.
The Mighty Macs stormed out of the gates in the second half and used a 17-8 run to post a 40-28 lead, the largest of the game, at 13:27 of the second half. Arcadia battled its way back and cut Immaculata's lead to 55-54 with 3:49 left. But a field goal by Legere and two free throws by sophomore Kasey Hicks sealed the victory for the Mighty Macs (11-8, 7-4 PAC).
Katie Lynch paced the Knights (6-15, 4-8 PAC) with 17 points.
Defense Propels Immaculata To 75-52 Win Over Neumann
Sophomore Dominique Murray collected a double-double as Immaculata University upended Neumann College 75-52, in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Monday, January 29, in Immaculata, PA.
Murray recorded 23 points and 17 rebounds to lead the Mighty Macs (10-8, 6-4) to a key conference win in Alumnae Hall. Senior Meg Legere also added a double-double with a 16-point, 10-rebound effort, while fellow senior Mary Kate Pawlowski registered 15 points. Sophomore Kasey Hicks amassed eight points, seven rebounds and five assists.
Immaculata held the Knights scoreless until the 13:19 of the first half, when they converted a free throw. The first field goal of the game for Neumann came at 6:30 of the opening half. The Mighty Macs held the Knights to 9.6% (3-31) shooting from the floor en route to a 34-12 halftime lead.
Immaculata jumped to a 41-19 lead, the largest of the game, at 15:47 of the second half, however the Knights chopped it down to 52-37 with 7:02 remaining. But the Mighty Macs pushed it back up to 60-40 with 4:55 left, en route to a 75-52 victory.
Dorothy Rozier, Brittany Whetts, Dominique Thompson each recorded nine points for Neumann (14-5, 8-2), while Whetts collected a team-high 11 rebounds.
Cabrini Halts Immaculata's Win Streak

Junior Nina Cammarano recorded a team-high 14 points, while sophomore Dominique Murray netted 13 points off the bench. Murray who missed the last six contests, pulled down six rebounds and collected three blocked shots. Senior Mary Kate Pawlowski amassed six points, four rebounds and four assists.
Senior Meg Legere totaled nine points and five rebounds. Legere has totaled 1,097 career points. She is 14 points shy of tying Shelia Johnson (1,111) for 13th-place all-time in school history. Legere is on pace to finish her career with 1,224 points, which would place her eight all-time.
Katie Finfrock paced the Cavaliers (12-5, 7-1 PAC) with 18 points, while Kayleen Smith registered 13 rebounds.

Mighty Macs Win Third Straight
Four players scored in double-figures, as Immaculata University defeated Wesley College 79-65, in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Monday, January 22, in Dover, Delaware.
This is the third straight win for the Mighty Macs (9-7, 5-3 PAC) and fourth in the last five games. Also, combined with the men's victory in the late game, this is the third consecutive conference doubleheader Immaculata has swept.
Junior Nina Cammarano led the Mighty Macs with a game-high 19 points, while senior Mary Kate Pawlowski, the current PAC Player of the Week, registered 15 points. Sophomore Stephanie Stripe amassed 12 points and five rebounds. Cammarano also pulled down eight rebounds.
Senior Meg Legere collected a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds. She has now totaled 1,088 career points and is 31 points shy of tying Shelia Johnson (1,111) for 13th all-time.

Pawlowski Named PAC Player of the Week
Senior Mary Kate Pawlowski was named Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending January 21. The award was announced on Monday, January 22, at the conference office in Aston, PA.
Pawlowski averaged 22.3 ppg and 10.6 rpg as the Mighty Macs totaled a 2-1 record last week, including a 71-55 win over Eastern University on January 18, and a 68-47 victory over Marywood University on January 20. She shot 51.1% from the field and 80.7% from the foul line, including a perfect 11-11 from the charity stripe against Eastern. Pawlowski also established a new career high with 28 points against Marywood and tied her career best with 12 rebounds vs. College Misericordia on January 15.
Pawlowski is third on the team in both scoring (12.9) and rebounding (6.3).
The Mighty Macs (8-7, 4-3 PAC), who have won two straight and three of their last four, return to action on Thursday, January 25, when they face Cabrini College. Tip-off is set for 6 pm.
Mighty Macs Roll Past Marywood; Capture Second Straight
Senior Mary Kate Pawlowski recorded a career-high 28 points, as Immaculata University cruised to a 68-47 victory over Marywood University in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Saturday, January 20, in Alumnae Hall.
In addition to her career-high 28 points, Pawlowski also pulled down 10 rebounds for her third consecutive double-double. Junior Nina Cammarano registered 10 points, while senior Meg Legere added nine points and 14 rebounds. Legere has totaled 1,070 career points and is 41 points shy of tying Shelia Johnson (1,111) for 13th all-time.
Sophomore Kasey Hicks amassed five points, nine rebounds and nine assists, while fellow sophomore Courtney Dixon collected eight points.
Immaculata held the Pacers to only 13 points in the first half, as the Mighty Macs took a 43-13 into the intermission. Immaculata pushed that lead to a game-high 32 points, 47-15, with 18:46 left, en route to a 68-47 victory. It was the second straight win and third in the last four games for the Mighty Macs.
Caity Hadzimichalis paced Marywood (7-10, 3-6 PAC) with 18 points.

Senior Mary Kate Pawlowski collected a double-double with game-high 25 points as the Immaculata University women's basketball team defeated Eastern University 71-55, in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Thursday, January 18, St. David's, PA.
Sophomore Stephanie Stripe registered 14 points, including 4-6 from beyond the arc, while sophomore Kasey Hicks established a new school record with 16 assists. She also added nine rebounds. Junior Nina Cammarano collected 12 points, while senior Meg Legere amassed six points. Freshman Shana Kehoe came off the bench and added six points. Legere has now totaled 1,061 career points.
Trailing 20-19 with 9:23 left in the first half, the Mighty Macs outscored the Eagles 22-13 over the last 9:00 to take a 42-32 lead into halftime. Eastern scored the first basket of the second half to pull within seven, 42-35, but Immaculata extended its lead to a game-high 71-46 with 3:59 remaining in the second half.
Raya Shores paced the Eagles (1-12, 0-6 PAC) with 21 points.

Immaculata University women's basketball fell to College Misericordia 76-65, in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) on Monday, January 15, in Immaculata, PA.
Senior Meg Legere collected her third straight double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Legere has now moved into 14th-place on the all-scoring list at Immaculata with 1,055 career points. She surpassed Mary Tipping (1,039) and Maria McLaughlin (1,047). Legere is 54 points shy of tying Shelia Johnson (1,111) for 13th all-time.
Senior Mary Kate Pawlowski recorded a double-double with a 14-point, 12-rebound performance. Her 12 rebounds are a career high. Junior Nina Cammarano added 12 points on 4-8 from beyond the arc.
Ericka Morrison paced the Cougars (7-7, 4-2 PAC) with 18 points, while Megan Yhlen amassed 15 points and eight rebounds.

Five players scored in double figures as the Immaculata University women's basketball team posted an 80-69 victory over Penn State - Berks on Thursday, January 11, in Reading, Pennsylvania.
Senior Meg Legere recorded a double-double with 23 points and 12 rebounds, while sophomore Stephanie Stripe, in her first start of her career, collected 15 points. With her 23 points Legere has now totaled 1,032 career points. She is seven points shy of tying Mary Tipping (1,039) for 15th on Immaculata's all-time scoring list.

Legere Scores Her 1,000th Point
Senior Meg Legere recorded a game-high 21 points, but Immaculata University fell to Emory & Henry College 68-55, at the Sunsational Tournament on Saturday, December 30, in the Virgin Islands.
With 17.9 left in the first half, Legere became the 16th player in women's basketball history to record 1,000-career points. She finished with 21 points and has totaled 1,009 points for her career. Legere is 30 points shy of tying Mary Tipping (1.039) for 15th all-time.
Legere also pulled down 12 rebounds, while sophomore Kasey Hicks amassed 10 points. Sophomore Courtney Dixon registered seven points.

Senior Mary Kate Pawlowski registered eight points, while sophomore Jessica Dantzler-Henry pulled down eight rebounds.
Annie McMahon paced the Lady Lions (5-3) with a game-high 16 points, while Jaqueline Hardwick and Mallory Olsheski posted 11 points each.

Gwynedd-Mercy Upends Immaculata
Immaculata University women's basketball team fell to Gwynedd-Mercy College 60-47, in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Thursday, December 7, in Alumnae Hall.
Sophomore Dominique Murray recorded a team-high 18 points, while freshman Remi Adebule collected 13 points and a career-high 11 rebounds. Junior Nina Cammarano and senior Meg Legere posted five points each, while sophomore Kasey Hicks totaled five assists.
Trailing 28-21 at the half, the Mighty Macs used a 14-6 run to take a 35-34 lead with 12:24 left in the second half. But the Griffins (5-1, 3-0 PAC) used a 18-6 run to grab a 52-41 lead with 4:20 remaining and held on for the 60-47 win.
Ashley Vandiver led Gwynedd-Mercy with 22 points and nine rebounds, while Karen Tierney amassed 12 points, four assists and three steals.

Immaculata Cruises To Win Over Cedar Crest

Legere recorded her career high on 13-17 from the field, while sophomore Dominique Murray poured in 23 points. Freshman Remi Adebule scored a career-high 16 points, in only nine minutes, off the bench. Murray added a team-high eight rebounds, while sophomore Kasey Hicks amassed seven rebounds and seven assists.
The Falcons scored the game's first basket at 19:53, but the Mighty Macs controlled the rest of the half, and the game, as Immaculata posted a 58-29 halftime lead.
Kelly Oakes paced Cedar Crest with 21 points and 14 rebounds, while Janelle Morcom collected 15 points.

Mighty Macs Fall At Alvernia
Sophomore Dominique Murray recorded a career day with 31 points and 20 rebounds, but Immaculata University fell to Alvernia College 92-79, in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Saturday, December 2, in Reading, PA.
Senior Meg Legere posted a double-double with 24 points and 12 rebounds, while sophomore Stephanie Stripe added 10 points off the bench. Murray also totaled five assists, while sophomore Kasey Hicks led the Mighty Macs with seven assists.
The Crusaders began the game leading 14-6, but Immaculata responded and used a 15-2 run to grab a 21-16 lead with 9:59 left in the opening stanza. Alvernia held a 33-32 lead with 4:12 left in the first half, but the Mighty Macs used a 12-6 run to take a 43-39 lead into intermission.
Tied at 47-47 with 17:09 left in the second half, the Crusaders (3-3, 2-0 PAC) used a 20-8 run to post a 67-55 lead with 11:22 remaining. Alvernia never looked backed as they extended its lead to 87-70 with 3:15 left.
Lauren Fortna paced the Crusaders with 24 points, while Jill Rosolie added 23 points. Kerry Higgs amassed 10 points, eight assists and five rebounds.
Immaculata (3-3, 1-1 PAC) returns to action on Monday, December 4, when they face Cedar Crest College in Allentown, PA. Tip-off is set for 7 pm.
Immaculata Wins PAC Opener
Senior Meg Legere recorded a game-high 19 points to lead Immaculata University to a 64-61 win over Rosemont College in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Thursday, November 30, in Alumnae Hall. It was the conference opener for both squads.
Sophomore Courtney Dixon registered 13 points of the bench, including 3-for-5 from beyond the arc, while junior Nina Cammarano collected nine points. Senior Mary Kate Pawlowski amassed six points, three assists and three steals, while sophomore Dominique Murray totaled eight points and sophomore Kasey Hicks added seven assists.
Trailing 60-53 with 3:06 left the Ramblers (1-3, 0-1 PAC) went on an 8-0 run to grab a 61-60 lead with 0:47 remaining. But Legere and Hicks connected on their fouls shots, and Immaculata played stellar defense, in the final 0:30 to give the Mighty Macs a 64-61 win.
Katie Linder paced Rosemont with 19 points and nine rebounds, while Cecelia Saunders recorded 17 points. Katie Ayers and Andrea Boyle posted 10 points each.
Immaculata (3-2, 1-0 PAC) returns to action on Saturday, December 2, when they face Alvernia College in Reading, PA. Tip-off is set for 1 pm.
Mighty Macs Fall In Home Opener
Immaculata University women's basketball team dropped a 71-54 decision to Rowan University in its home opener on Monday, November 27, in Alumnae Hall.
Senior Meg Legere recorded a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds, while fellow senior Mary Kate Pawlowski registered a team-high 16 points. Sophomore Jessica Dantzler-Henry added 12 points, four steals and four assists. Junior Nina Cammarano amassed six points, while sophomore Stephanie Stripe collected five points off the bench.
Trailing 14-7 with 11:57 left in the first half, the Mighty Macs (2-2) went on a 15-9 run to pull within one (23-22) with 5:52 remaining, but the Profs (2-2) withstood the run and extended its lead to 32-29 at the half.
Rowan pushed its halftime lead to 46-31 with 15:21 on the clock as they began the second stanza with a 14-2 run. Immaculata stormed back with an 18-9 run over the course of five minutes to cut the lead to 57-49 with 5:57 remaining. However, that would be as close as the Mighty Macs would get as the Profs recorded the 71-54 victory.
Lauren Bryne led Rowan with 16 points, while Susan Wallace added nine points. Wallace and Bryne also pulled down a team-high eight rebounds each.
Immaculata returns to action on Thursday, November 30, when they host Rosemont College in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) opener. Tip-off is set for 6 pm.

Dantzler-Henry Named PAC Player Of The Week...Again
Sophomore Jessica Dantzler-Henry was named the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) Player of the Week for the second consecutive week with a 79-65 win over Elizabethtown College on Tuesday, November 21.
For the week, Dantzler-Henry amassed 13 points, seven rebounds, three steals, and a career-high seven assists in the win. It was the second straight win for Immaculata (2-1). She is third on the squad in scoring (15.0) and leads the team in steals (11) and assists (13). Last week, Dantzler-Henry was also named PAC Player of the Week.
Immaculata Wins Second Straight With A Strong Second Half
Four starters scored in double-digits as the Immaculata University women's basketball team captured its second straight win with a 79-65 victory over Elizabethtown College, on Tuesday, November 21, in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania.
Senior Mary Kate Pawlowski paced the Mighty Macs with a team-high 19 points, while fellow senior Meg Legere collected 14 points and eight rebounds. Sophomore Jessica Danztler-Henry amassed 13 points, three steals and a career-high seven assists, while junior Nina Cammarano registered 12 points on four three-point field goals. Sophomore Kasey Hicks came off the bench and added a season-high seven assists, while sophomore Dominique Murray pulled down a season-best 13 rebounds.
Trailing 45-36 at the half, the Mighty Macs (2-1) went on a 20-8 run take a 56-54 lead with 11:36 remaining. After a three-pointer by Megan Quinn at 10:30 gave the Blue Jays a 57-56 lead, Immaculata closed the game on a 23-8 run to post the 79-65 victory. The Mighty Macs held Elizabethtown to 23.5% (8-34) shooting in the second half.
Erin Walton led the Blue Jays (1-2) with a game-high 21 points, while Audrey Hitz collected a double-double with 10 points and 15 rebounds.
Immaculata returns to action on Monday, November 27, when they host Rowan University in the home opener. Tip-off is set for 7 pm.
Mighty Macs Win First Game Of The Season
Sophomore Dominique Murray recorded a career-high 22 points and pulled down a team-best nine rebounds as Immaculata University defeated Grove City College 78-66 in the consolation game of the Jim Crawley/FSU Invitational on Saturday, November 18, in Frostburg, Maryland.
Trailing 24-23 with 6:23 left in the first half, the Mighty Macs used a 20-6 run to close the half and grab a 43-30 halftime margin. The Wolverines were able to whittle their halftime deficit down to five, 50-45, with 13:48 remaining, but Immaculata pulled in front with four consecutive baskets. Grove City did not get any closer than eight points down the stretch, as the Mighty Macs' lead swelled to a game-high 75-60 with 2:40 left in the second half.

Immaculata Falls In Season Opener
Immaculata University women's basketball dropped a 74-66 decision to Frostburg State University on the first day of the Jim Crawley/FSU Invitational on Friday, November 17, in Frostburg, Maryland.
Senior Meg Legere collected a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds, while sophomore Dominique Murray posted a team-high 18 points, while senior Mary Kate Pawlowski amassed 13 points, nine points and a career-high seven assists. Sophomore Jessica Dantzler-Henry collected 14 points, six rebounds, three assists, and a career-high five steals. Murray also pulled down seven rebounds.
The Mighty Macs will face Grove City Classic in the consolation game of the invitational on Saturday, November 18. Grove City fell to Goucher College 55-53 in the other semifinal. Tip-off for the consolation is set for 2 pm.
Immaculata To Open Season In Maryland
Immaculata University women's basketball team will open the 2006-07 campaign at the Jim Crawley/Frostburg State University Tournament on Friday, November 17. The Mighty Macs will face host Frostburg State in the opening round at 8 pm.
With only one player lost to graduation, Immaculata hopes to continue the success it found in the 2005-06 season. Last season, the Mighty Macs recorded an overall mark of 17-9 and placed second in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) South Division with a record of 11-5. IU also advanced to the PAC Quarterfinals for the second time in three years. They were previous playoff participants in 2003-04.
The Mighty Macs host Rowan University in the 2006-07 home opener on Monday, November 27. Tip-off is set for 7 pm.
Mighty Macs Picked To Finish Second
Immaculata University women's basketball team has been was selected to finish second in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) South Division women's basketball preseason poll. The poll was released on Wednesday, November 8, in Aston, PA.
The Mighty Macs finished the 2005-06 campaign with a mark of 17-9 overall, a record of 11-5 in the PAC South Division and a berth in the PAC tournament. It was the third-best turnaround in NCAA Division III last season. Immaculata finished the 2004-05 season with an overall record of 4-21. For her effort last season, head coach Patty Canterino was named PAC Coach of the Year.
Gwynedd-Mercy College was selected as the preseason favorite in the PAC. The defending conference champions, received 11 of 12 first-place votes and earned 143 points. They were also selected first in the North Division.
Alvernia College (127) was picked to finish second in the North, while College Misericordia (79), Marywood University (41) and Cedar Crest College (17) were selected to place third, fourth and fifth in the PAC North.
In the South, Cabrini College (114) was selected to place first, while Immaculata (111) was picked to finish second. Neumann College (93), Wesley College (70), Rosemont College (57), and Eastern University (19) rounded out the voting.
The Mighty Macs begin the 2006-07 campaign in Frostburg, Maryland on Friday, November 17. Immaculata will face Goucher College in the first round of the FSU/Jim Crawley Invitational at 6 pm.
