Ware Selected To PAC Sportsmanship Team
ASTON, Pa. – Immaculata University’s Chris Ware was selected to the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) Golf Sportsmanship Team, as announced by the conference office on April 29.
Ware played in all 10 rounds this spring for the Mighty Macs, carding a stroke average of 88.3. His low-round 82 at the Alvernia College Tri-Match on April 10 earned him his best finish of the season in a tie for second place, and helped lead Immaculata to the program’s first tournament title.
The Immaculata golf team finished the season over the weekend at the PAC Championship where it finished in sixth place.
Immaculata Caps Season Sixth At PAC Championships
CENTER VALLEY , Pa. - The Immaculata University golf team finished sixth at the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference Championship, which was held Saturday-Sunday, April 26-27, at the par-72 Center Valley Golf Club.
John Lynch carded a two-day total of 174 (89-85) to place in a tie for 16th overall. Rob Blair (91-91) and Chris Ware (87-95) each recorded a composite 182 for the championships. Zach Robie and Jeff DiGiacomo rounded out the scoring with two-day totals of 196 (93-103) and 201 (104-97), respectively.
As a team, the Mighty Macs scored a 728 (360-368) to finish sixth out of eight teams. Immaculata finished ahead of Centenary (817) and Gwynedd-Mercy College (819). Cabrini College won the championship with a two-day score of 635. Cabrini will represent the PAC in the NCAA Golf Tournament, beginning May 13 in Braselton, Ga.
Immaculata Finishes Third At Misericordia
DALLAS, Pa.—The Immaculata University golf team finished third at the Misericordia Tri-Match on Wednesday, April 23, at the Irem Temple Country Club.
Scranton squeezed out a one-stroke victory over host Misericordia, 338 to 339, respectively, while Immaculata, fired a 357 for the afternoon.
The Mighty Macs were led by rounds of 86 from both Chris Ware and John Lynch. Rob Blair carded a 91, and Zach Robie finished with a 94. Jeff DiGiacomo rounded out the scoring with a 96.
Scranton’s Jeff Slivinski shot a 79 to take home medalist honors.
Immaculata will conclude the spring this weekend at the PAC Championships, April 26-27, held at the Center Valley Golf Club.
Immaculata Finishes Action at Wesley Spring Invitational
WYOMING, Del. - The Immaculata University golf team finished the second day of competition at the Wesley Spring Invitational with a combined total of 720 (372-348) for seventh place. The two-day tournament was held at the par 72, 6,491-yard Wild Quail Country Club.
Chris Ware led the Mighty Macs with a total of 172 (89-83), after shooting Immaculata's lowest round each day. John Lynch finished with a two-round composite of 180 after following his opening round 91 up with a second round 89. Rob Blair was two strokes behind Lynch with a 182. Blair opened the tournament carding a 99, and tied Ware for the low-round the second day with an 83.
Zach Robie shot a 93 during the second round to finish with a combined 186 (93-93), and Jeff DiGiacomo fired a 94 during the second round, six strokes better than his opening round, to finished at 194 (100-94).
Ware recorded the only eagle of the first round, with a three on the par-5 15th hole.
Immaculata will conclude the spring this weekend at the PAC Championships, April 26-27, held at the Center Valley Golf Club.
Immaculata Places Third At Cabrini Quad-Match
RADNOR, Pa. – The Immaculata University golf team placed third at the Cabrini College Quad-Match on Monday, April 14, held at the Spring Ford Country Club.
Zach Robie shot an 86 to lead the Mighty Macs. John Lynch carded an 88 and Chris Ware followed with a round of 92. Rob Blair finished with a 100, while Jeff DiGiacomo completed the round with a 104.
As a team, the Mighty Macs finished third in the four-team event with a 366. Host Cabrini College won the match with a combined 339, while Delaware Valley finished second (364), just two strokes ahead of the Mighty Macs. Philadelphia Biblical placed fourth with a round of 377.
The Mighty Macs returns to the links on April 20-21 when they participate in the Welsey Invitational at Wild Quail Country Club.
Ware Honored As PAC Golfer Of The Week
ASTON, Pa. - On the heels of his best career finish, Immaculata junior Chris Ware was recognized Monday as the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference's Golfer of the Week for the week ending April 13. Ware helped lead the Mighty Macs to their first tournament title at the Alvernia College Tri-Match.
Ware was Immaculata's top finisher at the Alvernia Tri-Match. He turned in his best round this season, by finishing tied for second with a score of 82.
Ware began the week finishing 13th, individually, after carding a round of 91 at the Tom Ruggieri Invitational I, hosted by Widener University.
Ware has appear in every tournament this spring for Immaculata. He owns a stroke average of 87.8, which is best on the squad.
Golf Captures First Tournament Title
READING, Pa. - Chris Ware finished in a tie for second to help lead the Immaculata University golf team to the program's first tournament title at the Alvernia College Tri-Match, held at the par-70 Reading Country Club on Thursday afternoon. The Mighty Macs shot a combined score of 342 to finish one stroke ahead of host Alvernia.
Ware carded an 82 to finish just two strokes behind Alvernia's Ryan Weaber, who won the tournament with an 80, and tied with the Crusaders Jeremy Landis.
Zach Robie was two strokes behind Ware at 84 in fourth, and Rob Blair finished sixth with an 86. John Lynch fired a 90 for eighth place, and Jeff DiGiacomo was the final member competing for the Mighty Macs with a 106.
The Mighty Macs are back on the links on Monday, April 14, when they travel to Radnor, Pa. for the Cabrini College Invitational.
Golf Takes Fourth At Tom Ruggieri Invitational
WALLINGFORD, Pa. - The Immaculata University golf team finished fourth at the Tom Ruggieri Invitational I, hosted by Widener University, on Tuesday, April 8, at the Springhaven Golf Course.
John Lynch carded an 83 to be the Mighty Macs top finisher. Chris Ware finished his round with a 91, while Rob Blair fired a 95 for the afternoon. Zach Robie and Jeff DiGiacomo rounded out the scoring for Immaculata with rounds of 102 and 107, respectively.
Eastern University won the invitational after shooting a combined 344. Immaculata shot a 371 to finish fourth in the four-team event. Widener was second with a 348 and Haverford was one stroke behind the hosts with a 349.
Immaculata returns to action on Thursday, April 10, when it participates at the Alvernia College Invitational.
Golf Finishes Fourth At USP
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Immaculata University’s golf team finished fourth at the USP Invitational on Thursday, April 3. The invitational was held at the Island Green Country Club in Philadelphia.
John Lynch shot an 85, while Rob Blair was two strokes behind his team with an 87. Chris Ware carded a 91, and Zach Robie and Jeff DiGiacomo finished with rounds of 94 and 100, respectively.
As a team, the Mighty Macs finished fourth out of the four teams competing with a 357. Host University of the Sciences in Philadelphia and Nyack tied for first place with a combined 325. Felician was third with a 347.
Immaculata will be back on the links on Tuesday, April 8, when they participate in the Widener Invitational at the Springhaven Golf Course.
Immaculata Opens Spring Third At Neumann Invitational
CHADDS FORD, Pa. – The Immaculata University golf team opened the spring slate placing third at the Neumann College Invitational on Monday, March 24. The invitational was held at the Concord Country Club.
Chris Ware shot an 87 to lead the Mighty Macs. Zach Robie carded a 93 and John Lynch was one stroke behind with a round of 94. Rob Blair finished with a 96, while Jeff DiGiacomo completed the round with a 101.
As a team, the Mighty Macs finished third in the four-team event with a 370. Host Neumann College won the invitational with a combined 333, while fellow PAC rival Misericordia finished second (349). Arcadia placed fourth with a round of 410.
The Mighty Macs returns to the links on April 3 when they participate in the University of the Sciences Invitational at the Island Green Country Club.
Immaculata Picked To Finish Seventh In The PAC Preseason Poll
ASTON, Pa. – Immaculata University’s golf team has been selected to finish seventh in the 2008 Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) preseason poll released Monday. The Mighty Macs collected a total of 15 points.
Neumann College, who was runner-up a season ago, was selected to win the PAC this season, earning a total of 63 and capturing seven first-place votes. Alvernia College was picked second after earning 55 points and one first-place nod.
Cabrini College (48) and Misericordia University (37), finished third and fourth, respectively. Eastern College (36), Centenary College (21) and Gwynedd-Mercy College (13) round out the preseason poll in fifth, sixth and eighth, respectively.
Immaculata opens the 2008 season on March 24 at the Neumann Invitational at the Concord Country Club in Chadds Ford, Pa.
Mighty Macs Close The Season At PAC Championships
Immaculata University golf team placed seventh at the Pennsylvania Athletic Championships which was held Saturday-Sunday, April 28-29 at the 6,500-yard, par-72 Center Valley Golf Club in Center Valley, PA.
Sophomore Matt O'Brien carded a two-day total of 164 (83-81) to place 11th overall. He was one-stroke back (163) of a 10-place finish. Sophomore Rob Blair recorded a 186 (97-89) for the championships to place 29th overall. Sophomores Tim DeLong and Nick Rohr rounded out the scoring with two-day totals of 242 (121-121) and 243 (133-110), respectively.
As a team, the Mighty Macs scored an 835 (434-401) to finish seventh out of nine teams. Immaculata finished ahead of Arcadia University (839) and Gwynedd-Mercy College (848). Wesley College won the championship with a two-day score of 634.
