Immaculata Finishes Third At The Cabrini College Invitational
Immaculata University golf team placed third at the Cabrini College Invitational on Monday, April 23, in Royersford, Pennsylvania. The invitational was held at the Springford Country Club.
Sophomore Matt O'Brien carded an 83 to place second out of 16 golfers, while fellow sophomore Rob Blair finished third with an 84. Sophomore Nick Rohr shot a 111, while sophomore Tim DeLong rounded out the scoring with a 120.
As a team, the Mighty Macs totaled 398 to place third out of four teams. Cabrini won the invitational with a 347, while Haverford shot a 385 to finish second.
Mighty Macs Compete At Wesley College Invitational
Immaculata University golf team competed at the Wesley College Spring Invitational on Wednesday, April 15, in Wyoming, Delaware. The invitational was held at the par-72, 6,794-yard Wild Quail Golf and Country Club.
Sophomore Matt O'Brien finished tied for 11th-place out of 66 golfers with a three-over 75. It was his lowest score of the season. Sophomore Rob Blair also shot his lowest of the year with an 81, while fellow sophomore Nick Rohr carded a 103. Sophomore Tim DeLong rounded out the scoring with a 122.
As a team, Immaculata totaled a score of 381 to place 14th.
The Mighty Macs returns to action on Monday, April 23, when they participate in the Cabrini College Invitational.
O'Brien Receives Player Of The Week Honors
Sophomore Matt O'Brien has been named a Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) Honor Roll selection. The award was announced on Monday, April 16, in Aston, PA.
O'Brien shot a 76 to place third at the Tom Ruggieri Invitational II on Tuesday, April 10 in Wallingford, PA. The invitational was hosted by Widener University. He finished third out of 21 golfers.
Immaculata Takes Fourth At Tom Ruggieri Invitational II
Immaculata University golf team finished in fourth place at the Tom Ruggieri Invitational II hosted by Widener University on Tuesday, April 10. The invitational was held at the par-70, 6,355-yard Springhaven Golf Course in Wallingford, Pennsylvania.
Sophomore Matt O'Brien carded a 76 to tie for third out of 21 golfers. Sophomore Rob Blair recorded a 96, while fellow sophomore Tim DeLong collected a 106. Sophomore Nick Rohr rounded out the scoring for Immaculata with a 112.
Dave Taraschi won the invitational a one-under par 69.
As a team, the Mighty Macs shot a 390 to finish fourth out of five teams. Widener won the invitational with a 304, while Swarthmore College placed second with a 318. Rutgers -Camden finished third with a 329, while Chestnut Hill College placed fifth with a 415.
Immaculata returns to action on Monday, April 16, when they participate at the Cabrini College Invitational.
Mighty Macs Place Third At Philadelphia University
Immaculata University golf team placed third at the Philadelphia University Invitational on Friday, March 30. The invitational was held at the par-67, 5,244-yard John Bryne Golf Club in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Sophomore Matt O'Brien shot an eight-over par 75 to place second overall, one stroke behind the winner, Nick Johns (74) of Philadelphia University. Sophomore Rob Blair carded a 90, while fellow sophomores Tim DeLong and Nick Rohr scored a 106 and 112, respectively.
As a team, the Mighty Macs finished third out of four teams with a 383. Widener University won the invitational with a 318, while Philadelphia finished second (329). Caldwell College placed fourth with a 389.
The Mighty Macs returns to action on Monday, April 2, when they participate in the Holy Family Invitational.
Immaculata Picked To Finish Seventh In The PAC
Immaculata University's golf team has been selected to finish seventh in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) pre-season golf poll. The poll was released on Wednesday, March 14 from the conference office in Aston, PA.
The Mighty Macs, who placed eighth at the PAC Championships a year ago, were slated to finish ahead of Arcadia University. Immaculata received 22 points, while Arcadia recorded 18.
Wesley College is the pre-season favorite to win the conference. They received all nine first-place votes for a total of 81 points to finish ahead of Neumann College. The Knights, the 2006 PAC runner-up, earned a total of 68 points to place second.
The rest of the poll is as follows: Alvernia College (61), College Misericordia (49), Cabrini College (44), Eastern University (32), the Mighty Macs, and Arcadia.
Immaculata opens the 2007 season at the Philadelphia University Invitational on Friday, April 30.
