
Immaculata Falls In Title Game
Immaculata University fell to Alvernia College 70-55, in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship on Friday, February 23, in Reading, PA.
Freshman Scott Marston collected a career-high 17 points, while junior Robert Jones recorded a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Freshman Jayson Hyman registered a game- and career-high 13 rebounds.
Trailing 27-20 with 4:09 left in the first half, the Mighty Macs (12-16) used an 8-1 run to knot the game at 28-28 with 1:17 remaining. The Crusaders scored the last basket of the first half to take a 30-28 lead into intermission.
Alvernia (23-4) opened the second half with a 16-4 run to post a 46-32 lead with 14:51 remaining. The Crusaders held a double-digit lead for most of the second half, until Immaculata cut the lead to nine, 57-48, with 3:15 left. But Alvernia pushed its lead back to 14, 64-50, with 1:27 remaining en route to the 70-55 victory.
Terrence Shawell totaled a game-high 19 points, while Garrett Etzel amassed 18 points for the Crusaders.
Mighty Macs Upset Gwynedd-Mercy 65-59, and Advance to Title Game
In what can be described as the biggest win in its short history, Immaculata University upended Gwynedd-Mercy College 65-59, on Tuesday, February 20 in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) semifinals to earn a spot in the PAC Championship. The Mighty Macs, who are #3 seed in the playoffs, will face top-seeded Alvernia College in the title game on Friday, February 23 at 7 pm. The Crusaders defeated Eastern University, 71-48, to advance.
Freshman Scott Marston recorded his first career double-double with 15 points and a career-best 11 rebounds, while junior Robert Jones added a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Freshman Jayson Hyman amassed 10 points, seven rebounds and three steals, while sophomore Dan Lepone collected seven points.
Immaculata (12-15) jumped out to a 14-5 lead with 12:21 left in the first half, but the Griffins (14-12) used a 13-4 run to knot the game at 18-18 with 9:18 remaining. The Mighty Macs broke the tie and pushed their lead to 31-27 with 4:35 left, but Gwynedd-Mercy scored the final five points of the first half and took a 32-31 lead, its first of the game, into intermission.
With the score tied at 34-34 with 17:48 left, Immaculata scored six straight points to post a 40-34 lead with 15:22 remaining in the second half. The Griffins whittled the lead down and eventually took a 52-51 lead with 7:45 left. However, the Mighty Macs responded and used a 9-2 run to grab a 60-56 lead at the 2:58 mark of the final half. But Gwynedd-Mercy cut the deficit to two, 60-58, with 1:17 left, before Hyman hit the shot of the night.
As the shot clock was winding and Immaculata up by only two, Hyman found himself one-on-one in the paint with David Smith. He calmly connected on a turnaround jumper before the shot clock expired to give the Mighty Macs a 62-58 lead with 0:43 remaining. The Griffins never recovered. Immaculata connected on three of four free throws down the stretch to earn the 65-59 victory.
Haven Wroten paced Gwynedd-Mercy with 18 points, while Chris DelBrocco registered 14 points.
Immaculata Defeats Wesley 77-62; Wins First Playoff Game In Team History
Freshman Jayson Hyman recorded a career-high 34 points, as Immaculata University posted a 77-62 win over Wesley College in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) quarterfinals. In only their second year of existence, the Mighty Macs not only earned their first playoff berth, but collected the first playoff victory by a men's varsity team in school history.
In addition to his career-best 34 points, Hyman also pulled down a career-high 12 rebounds. His 34 points is the highest total in team history. Junior Robert Jones registered 19 points, while sophomore Dan Lepone posted seven points. Freshman Scott Marston amassed six points, five rebounds and two blocks, while sophomore Kyle Finklea garnered four assists.
The Mighty Macs never trailed in the contest as they jumped out to a 9-2 lead with 16:00 left. The Wolverines pulled to within 13-12 with 14:10 remaining, but Immaculata pulled away and ended the half on an 11-0 run to take a 39-21 lead into intermission.
Wesley came out in the second half and cut into the Mighty Macs' lead. They whittled a 19-points halftime deficit down to eight, 56-48, with 8:13 left. But Immaculata responded with a 19-5 run to post a 75-53 lead with 1:19 remaining. They held on and recorded its first playoff victory.
Rashawn Johnson collected a double-double with a team-high 19 points and 10 rebounds, while Evan Martin registered 15 points for the Wolverines (11-15).
The Mighty Macs (11-15) will travel to Gwynedd-Mercy on Tuesday, February 20, for a PAC semifinal game. Tip-off time is yet to be determined.
Mighty Macs Fall To Neumann, But Will Host Wesley In Playoffs
Despite a 67-65 loss to Neumann College on Thursday, February 15, in Aston, Pennsylvania, Immaculata University will host its first men's basketball playoff game. The Mighty Macs will host Wesley College in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) Quarterfinals on Saturday, February 17, at 2 pm.
Before their fate was decided the Mighty Macs (10-15, 10-8 PAC) faced the Knights in the season finale for both squads.
Freshman Scott Marston paced Immaculata with 14 points, while freshman Jayson Hyman, sophomore Sean Fordhman and junior Robert Jones registered 10 points each. Sophomore Kyle Finklea added nine points and seven assists.
Immaculata led the majority of the first half, but Neumann held the Mighty Macs to only two points over the final 7:45 of the first half, to take a 31-26 lead into intermission.
Trailing 33-26, Immaculata used an 11-2 run to take a 37-35 lead with 15:54 left in the second half. Both teams traded baskets as the lead changed 10 times, before the Knights held a 60-56 lead with 4:04 remaining. The Mighty Macs outscored Neumann 9-5 over the next 3:45 to knot the game at 65-65 with 0:15 left. As the Knights proceed to miss the potential game-winner, the Mighty Macs were called for a loose ball foul with 0:00.3 remaining. Neumann's Ronnie Fields calmly made both free throws to give the Knights a 67-65 win over Immaculata.
Derahn Patrick led Neumann (13-12, 10-8 PAC) with 20 points, while Mike Hitchens collected 14 points.
Immaculata has already defeated Wesley College (11-14, 9-9) this season, most recently a 74-65 win at Alumnae Hall on February 5.
Immaculata Earns Berth In Conference Playoffs
In only their second year of existence, the Immaculata University men’s basketball qualified for the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) playoffs with a 76-57 win over Eastern University in front of a capacity crowd at Alumnae Hall.
"It feels great to be in the playoffs," said head coach Jamie Chadwin. "We really earned it. It is a testament to the team's work ethic and how they were able to persevere through the rough start, when we began the season 1-10."
The Mighty Macs surely have turned it around. Over the past 13 games, Immaculata has gone 9-4 to improve to 10-14 overall and 10-7 in the conference. In their first year, 2005-06, the Mighty Macs recorded a mark of 5-20 overall.
Freshman Jayson Hyman recorded 17 points and seven rebounds, while junior Robert Jones collected 19 points, eight rebounds, three assists, two steals, and one block. Senior Kris Behm amassed eight points, four rebounds and four steals on senior night. Sophomore Kyle Finklea, who started his first game since his ankle injury, registered 16 points, four assists and three steals.
"It was good to see Kyle back in the lineup," stated Chadwin. "What he does is loosen the defense, which enables other guys to step up. We had Rob (Jones) score 19, and Jayson (Hyman) played great. So he is a great asset on the court."
With the score knotted at 5-5 with 17:01 left in the first half, Immaculata used a 15-7 run to grab a 20-12 lead at 10:13. The Mighty Macs pushed their first half lead to 36-24 at the 2:31 mark and took a 41-33 lead into intermission.
Immaculata began the half with a 26-16 run to post a 67-49 lead with 9:00 left in the second half. The Eagles would not get any closer, as the Mighty Macs posted the historic 76-57 victory.
Mike Johnson paced Eastern (15-9, 10-7 PAC) with 21 points, while Matt Malloy added 14 points.
Cabrini Slips Past Immaculata 54-50
Immaculata University fell to Cabrini College 54-50, in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Saturday, February 10, in Alumnae Hall.
Freshman Jayson Hyman recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds, while junior Robert Jones amassed eight points, 11 rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Freshman Scott Marston registered seven points, while sophomore Julius Lopez totaled eight points. Hyman also added four steals.
The Mighty Macs (9-14, 9-7 PAC) jumped out to an 18-6 lead at the 11:55 mark, but the Cavaliers used a 19-7 run to knot the game at 25-25 with 1:15 left. Immaculata took a 28-25 lead into intermission.
The Mighty Macs scored six straight points to open the second half (34-25), but Cabrini used a 22-6 run to take a 47-40 lead with 8:01 left in the second half. Immaculata's 9-2 run knotted the game at 49-49 with 3:35 left. With Cabrini leading 51-49, sophomore Dan Lepone made one of two foul shots to pull within 51-50. However, the Cavaliers (3-20, 3-13 PAC) made three straight free throws to seal their 54-50 victory.
Randy Reid paced Cabrini with 15 points 16 rebounds, while Bruce McLelland collected nine points and 17 rebounds. Matt Walsh added 15 points, all in the first half, for the Cavaliers.
Alvernia Holds Off Late Immaculata Rally
Immaculata University fell to Alvernia College 48-45, in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Thursday, February 8, in Alumnae Hall.
The Mighty Macs fall to 9-13 overall and 9-6 in the PAC.
Freshman Scott Marston tied his career high with 16 points, while junior Robert Jones tied his career best with 13 rebounds. Jones also added seven points and three steals. Marston also tied his career high with eight rebounds, while freshman Jayson Hyman collected five points, eight rebounds and two steals.
The Crusaders (18-4, 13-2 PAC) held a 30-21 lead at the half, but the Mighty Macs began the second half on a 7-2 run to pull within four points, 32-28, with 14:34 remaining. Alvernia extended its lead to 11 points, 45-34, with 5:53 left in the half. However, Immaculata used an 11-2 run to pull within 47-45 with 2:10 left in the second half.
After a Crusader turnover, junior Dan Lepone's jumper just fell short with 0:08 remaining, but the Mighty Macs put Alvernia on the line. After making just one of two, Immaculata had one more shot. Sophomore Julius Lopez' three-point field goal fell short as time expired to preserve the win for the Crusaders.
Terrence Shawell collected a double-double for Alvernia with 12 points and 12 rebounds, while Garrett Etzel led all scorers with 17 points.
Immaculata Defeats Wesley 74-65; Improves to 9-5 In The PAC
Immaculata University defeated Wesley College 74-65, in a key Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) battle on Monday, February 5, in Alumnae Hall.
Freshman Jayson Hyman collected a double-double with 19 points and a career-high 10 rebounds, while fellow freshman Scott Marston totaled 14 points and six rebounds. Senior Kris Behm amassed nine points, three assists, two steals, and one block, and was a perfect 2-2 from the field and 2-2 from beyond the arc. Sophomore Julius Lopez registered 12 points, while Dan Lepone added eight points off the bench.
"It was great to have different players step up each game and today was Kris," said head coach Jamie Chadwin. "We have had pretty balance scoring over the past few games."
Immaculata has won seven of its last nine games.
The Mighty Macs (9-12, 9-5 PAC) started out strong once again as they posted a 36-22 lead with 3:26 left in the opening half. They held on for a 39-30 halftime margin.
The Wolverines (9-13, 7-8 PAC) scored the first basket of the second half, but Immaculata used a 14-7 run to grab a 53-39 lead with 13:59 remaining in the second half. The Mighty Macs pushed their lead to a 17-point advantage, 60-43, the largest of the game, at 11:43 of the second half. Wesley was able to cut it nine, 75-65, at the buzzer.
Rashawn Johnson paced the Wolverines with a game-high 22 points.
Immaculata Bounces Back With 76-62 Win Over Misericordia
Sophomore Dan Lepone recorded a team-high 17 points as Immaculata University shut down College Misericordia 76-62, in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Saturday, February 3, in Dallas, PA.
Five players scored in double-figures for the Mighty Macs as they improved to 8-12 overall and 8-5 in the PAC. In addition to Lepone (17), junior Robert Jones and freshman Scott Marston collected 16 points each, while sophomores Sean Fordham and Julius Lopez registered 12 and 11 points, respectively. Marston and Jones also pulled down eight rebounds apiece.
Trailing 23-20 with 5:39 left in the opening stanza, Immaculata used a 13-7 run to close the half with a 33-30 lead. The Mighty Macs opened the second half with a 10-4 run to take a 43-34 lead, but the Cougars (8-13, 6-8 PAC) responded with an 11-2 run to knot the game at 45-45 with 12:18 remaining.
After Misericordia scored to pull within 67-62, Immaculata used a 9-0 run to close the game and earn the 76-62 victory.
Mighty Macs Fall At Arcadia
Immaculata University fell to Arcadia University 70-56, in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Thursday, February 1, in Glenside, PA.
Junior Robert Jones amassed 15 points, six rebounds and three assists, while senior Kris Behm registered nine points. Freshman Scott Marston collected eight points and two blocks, while fellow freshman Chris Christopher amassed four points, seven rebounds and two blocks.
The Mighty Macs (7-12, 7-5 PAC) jumped out to a 10-5 lead at 13:19 of the first half, but the Knights used a 21-7 run to grab a 26-17 lead at 1:32. Arcadia took a 28-23 lead into intermission.
Immaculata was able to tie the game at 30-30 with 16:09 left in the second half, but the Knights broke the tie and posted a 36-30 lead with 14:40 remaining. However, the Mighty Macs pulled to within two, 52-50, off a field goal by Kris Behm at 5:42. But Arcadia used an 18-6 run to close the game and post the 70-56 victory.
Dave Boettcher collected a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Knights (9-11, 7-6 PAC).
Jones' Career High Double-Double Lifts Immaculata Past Neumann
Junior Robert Jones recorded career highs with 28 points and 13 rebounds to lift Immaculata University to a 74-70 win over Neumann College in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) action, on Monday, January 29, in Alumnae Hall.
Jones registered his career high to lead the Mighty Macs to their sixth win in seven games. Immaculata improved to 7-11 overall and 7-4 in the PAC. Freshman Scott Marston tied his career high with 16 points, while sophomore Kyle Finklea collected 10 points. Sophomore Dan Lepone added nine points.
With the score tied at 4-4 with 18:21 left in the first half, Immaculata went on a 30-8 run to grab a 34-12 lead with 5:33 remaining. The Mighty Macs finished the half with a 38-24 lead.
Immaculata held a 55-42 lead with 10:52 left in the second half, but the Knights (11-8, 8-4 PAC) whittled that down to 68-68 with 1:58 remaining. But a dunk by Marston off a Neumann turnover at 1:08 gave the Mighty Macs a 70-68 lead. They held on for the 74-70 victory.
Ronnie Fields paced the Knights with 21 points, while Derahn Patrick recorded 14 points.
Finklea's Career High Propels Immaculata to 69-58 Win Over Marywood
Sophomore Kyle Finklea recorded a career-high 29 points, as Immaculata University defeated Marywood University 69-58, in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Saturday, January 27, in Scranton, PA.
Finklea led all scorers with his career high, while junior Robert Jones added 10 points and seven rebounds. Sophomore Dan Lepone totaled nine points and seven rebounds, while freshman Jayson Hyman amassed seven points and five rebounds.
With the score tied 23-23 with 3:25 left in the first half, the Mighty Macs (6-11, 6-4 PAC) held the Pacers scoreless until the 17:16 mark of the second half, a stretch of seven minutes. Immaculata used a 20-5 run during that time to post a 43-28 lead, the largest of the game, at 14:39 of the second half. Marywood was able to pull within seven, 58-51, with 4:47 remaining, but the Mighty Macs held them to only seven points down the stretch to collect the 69-58 victory.
Adam Wildasin led the Pacers (5-14, 2-10) with 16 points, while Matt Johnson added nine points and 10 rebounds.
Immaculata returns to action on Monday, January 29, when they host Neumann College. Tip-off is set for 8 pm.
Cabrini's Last Second Shot Upends Mighty Macs
Randy Reid made two foul shots with 0:00.8 left in the second half to upset Immaculata University 67-65, in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Thursday, January 25, in Radnor, PA.
Junior Robert Jones collected a career-high 25 points on 10-14 from the floor, while sophomore Kyle Finklea added 14 points. Jones also collected nine rebounds and tied his career high with three steals. Sophomore Dan Lepone amassed 10 points and tied his career best with four assists.
The Cavaliers (2-14, 1-8 PAC) held a 19-4 lead with 14:40 left in the first half, but the Mighty Macs (5-11, 5-4) went on a 17-5 run to pull within 24-21 with 8:41 remaining in the opening stanza. Jones had 10 of the Immaculata's 17 points during that run. Cabrini returned the favor and pushed its lead to 34-23 with 5:13 left, but Immaculata cut into the deficit and went into halftime trailing 36-31.
The Mighty Macs took their first lead of the game, 45-44, at 13:38 of the second half off a three-pointer by junior Durell Harris. Immaculata posted its largest lead of the game, 55-50, at 9:48, but Cabrini tied the game at 57-57 with 8:15 remaining. Both teams traded points and with 1:03 left, the score was knotted at 65-65. After two missed shots by the Mighty Macs in the final minute, Reid was fouled and made two fouls shots with 0:00.8 left
Reid paced Cabrini with 26 points.
Mighty Macs Continue To Stay Hot
Freshman Jayson Hyman recorded a career-high 22 points, as Immaculata University won its fourth straight game with a 75-66 win over Wesley College in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Monday, January 22, in Dover, Delaware.
The Mighty Macs matched their overall win total from a year ago, as they improved 5-10. However, Immaculata surpassed its conference win total from last season with a 5-3 mark in the PAC.
Sophomore Kyle Finklea matched Hyman's career high with 22 points of his own. The current PAC Player of the Week also set a career high with seven assists. Junior Robert Jones collected 19 points and 11 rebounds for his fourth double-double of the season.
Defensively, freshman Scott Marston and Jones held Wesley's Rashawn Jonhson, the conference's leading scorer (24.4), to a mere nine points.
Cody White paced the Wolverines (6-10, 4-5 PAC) with 13 points.
Finklea Named PAC Player Of The Week For The Second Time
Sophomore Kyle Finklea has been named Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) Player of the Week for the week ending January 21. This is the second time this season, Finklea has received weekly honors. The award was announced on Monday, January 22, at the conference office in Aston, PA.
Finklea averaged 21.0 ppg. and 8.3 rpg. in a 3-0 week for the Mighty Macs. Immaculata defeated College Misericordia (69-65) on January 15, Eastern University (73-60) on January 18, and Marywood University (89-74) on Saturday, January 20. It is the first three-game winning streak for the Mighty Macs in team history.
Finklea recorded game-highs vs. Misericordia (25) and vs. Marywood (24). For the week, he shot 48.9% from the floor and 73.7% from the foul line. Finklea tied his career highs with three blocks vs. Misericordia and five assists vs. Eastern.
Finklea leads the team in scoring (14.8) and assists (35) and is second in rebounding (5.0).
Immaculata (4-10, 4-3 PAC) returns to action on Thursday, January 25, when they face Cabrini College. Tip-off is set for 8 pm.
Immaculata Wins Third Straight Conference Game
Sophomore Kyle Finklea recorded a game-high 24 points, as Immaculata University posted its third straight Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) win with a 89-74 victory over Marywood University on Saturday, January 20, in Alumnae Hall.
Junior Robert Jones collected a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds, while freshman Jayson Hyman recorded 17 points. Sophomore Dan Lepone poured in 14 points, while Finklea added three steals and three assists.
Trailing 22-15 with 9:08 left in the first half, the Mighty Macs finished the opening stanza on a 27-11 run to take a 42-33 lead into halftime. The Pacers were able to pull within 56-51, with 12:52 remaining, but Immaculata went on an 11-4 run to grab a 70-55 lead with 9:15 left. The Mighty Macs held on for an 89-74 victory.
Adam Wildasin led Marywood (5-11, 2-7 PAC) with 22 points, while Joe Buczko collected 15 points and eight rebounds.
Immaculata returns to action on Monday, January 20, when they face Wesley College, in Dover, Delaware. Tip-off is set for 8 pm.
Mighty Macs Win Second Straight
Immaculata University men's basketball team earned its second straight win with a 73-60 victory over Eastern University on Thursday, January 18, in St. David's, Pennsylvania.
The win improves to the Mighty Macs to 3-10 overall and 3-3 in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC).
Junior Robert Jones totaled a career-high 22 points, while sophomore Kyle Finklea recorded 14 points. Finklea tied his career high with five assists and also added a game-high nine rebounds. Jones also tied career highs in both steals (3) and assists (3). Freshman Scott Marston amassed nine points and eight rebounds, while sophomore Dan Lepone collected nine points, four assists and four steals.
With the score tied 2-2, Immaculata ran off 10 straight points to hold a 10-2 lead with 15:05 left in the first half. The Mighty Macs used that first half energy and turned it into a 42-25 halftime lead.
Eastern (8-6, 5-4 PAC) whittled the lead down to six points, 54-48, with 9:42 left in the second half, but Immaculata used an 11-2 run to grab a 65-50 lead with 6:00 remaining.
David Volpe paced the Eagles with 19 points.
The Mighty Macs return to action on Saturday, January 20, when they host Marywood University. Tip-off is set for 3 pm.
Lepone Sends Immaculata To Second Victory
Sophomore Dan Lepone's field goal with 0:26 remaining in the second half broke a 65-65 tie and propelled Immaculata University to a 69-65 victory over College Misericordia Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Monday, January 15, in Immaculata, PA.
Sophomore Kyle Finklea led all scorers with 25 points, including eight consecutive points down the stretch. Lepone recorded 14 points, including the game-winner, while freshman Scott Marston amassed 11 points, five rebounds and three steals. Finklea also pulled down nine rebounds and registered a career-high three blocks.
Trailing 22-21 with 7:43 left in the first half, the Mighty Macs (2-10, 2-3 PAC) went on a 15-6 run to take a 36-28 lead into intermission. Immaculata never trailed again. The Cougars (5-9, 3-4 PAC) tied the game twice in the second half, including a 9-3 run which tied the game at 65-65 with 0:26 left. But Lepone's jumper from the left wing secured the Mighty Macs' second win of the season.
Tony Razykowski paced Misericordia with 15 points, while Marcus Little added 13 points.
Immaculata returns to action on Thursday, January 18, when they face Eastern University. Tip-off is set for 8 pm.
Mighty Macs Fall To Gwynedd-Mercy

Junior Robert Jones collected a career-high 17 points and a team-high eight rebounds, while sophomore Kyle Finklea recorded 12 points and four assists. Jones also tied his career high with three steals, while freshman Scott Marston added 10 points off the bench.
David Smith led the Griffins (6-6, 4-1 PAC) with a game-high 21 points and 15 rebounds.
The Mighty Macs (1-10, 1-3 PAC) return to action on Monday, January 15, when they host College Misericordia. Tip-off is set for 8 pm.
Finklea Earns PAC Player Of The Week Honors
Sophomore Kyle Finklea was named the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) Player of the Week for the week ending January 8. The awards was announced at the conference office in Aston, PA
For the week, Finklea averaged 23.0 ppg and 6.0 rpg, as the Mighty Macs dropped two games at the Casa Mia Holiday Tournament on the campus of DeSales University from Friday-Saturday, January 5-6. In the 73-68 loss to DeSales, he collected a season-high 27 points on a career-high 12-24 (50.0%) from the field. Finklea also collected eight rebounds and tied his career high with two blocks vs. DeSales. He followed that game with a 19-point effort in an 86-67 loss to St. Mary's College (MD).
Finklea leads the team in scoring (13.4) and assists (22).

Immaculata Falls In The Consolation Game
Immaculata University men's basketball team fell to St. Mary's College (MD) 86-67, in the consolation game of the Casa Mia Holiday Tournament on Saturday, January 6, in Center Valley, Pennsylvania. The tournament was held on the campus of DeSales University.
Sophomore Kyle Finklea - who was named to the All-Tournament Team - collected a team-high 19 points, while freshman Jayson Hyman registered 17 points. Junior Robert Jones contributed 10 points and six rebounds, while sophomores Dan Lepone and Reggie Strickland posted eight points each.
Tyson Lesesne paced St. Mary's (5-6) with a game-high 22 points, while Mike Smelkinson added 18 points and seven assists.
The Mighty Macs (1-9) return to action on Thursday, January 11, when they face Gwynedd-Mercy College. Tip-off is set for 7 pm.

Finklea Pours In 27; Mighty Macs Fall To DeSales
Playing for the first time since December 7, Immaculata University fell to DeSales University 73-68, in the opening game of the Casa Mia Holiday Tournament on Friday, January 5, in Center Valley, Pennsylvania. The tournament is being hosted by DeSales.
Sophomore Kyle Finklea amassed a season-high 27 points and added eight rebounds and two blocks, while freshman Scott Marston recorded 16 points and seven rebounds off the bench. Sophomore Julius Lopez registered 13 points, while senior Kris Behm collected five steals in the loss.
Phil Stricker paced the DeSales (9-2) with a game-high 31 points.
The Mighty Macs (1-8) return to action on Saturday, January 6, and will face St. Mary's College. Tip-off is set for 2 pm.
Gwynedd-Mercy Slips Past Immaculata
Immaculata University men's basketball team dropped a 61-56 decision to Gwynedd-Mercy College in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Thursday, December 7, in Alumnae Hall.
Freshman Jayson Hyman recorded a team-high 16 points, while sophomore Kyle Finklea registered 12. Junior Robert Jones pulled down a career-high 12 rebounds, while senior Kris Behm and sophomore Dan Lepone recorded six points each. Jones also added seven points.
The Mighty Macs held a 47-42 lead with 9:40 left in the second half, but the Griffins used a 12-3 run to take a 54-50 lead with 6:60 left in the final stanza. Immaculata was able to pull within one, 54-53, with 3:48 remaining, but Gwynedd-Mercy held on for the 61-56 victory.
Haven Wroten paced the Griffins (4-2, 3-1 PAC) with 20 points and 11 rebounds, while Chris DelBrocco totaled 15 points.
The Mighty Macs (1-7, 1-2 PAC) return to action in the New Year when they face DeSales University in the first round of the DeSales Invitational on Friday, January 5. Tip-off is set for 8 pm.
Mighty Macs Fall To Widener In Overtime
Immaculata University men's basketball team suffered an 87-78 overtime loss to Widener University on Monday, December 4, in Alumnae Hall.
Freshman Jayson Hyman recorded a career-high 22 points, while sophomore Kyle Finklea registered 16 points. Senior Kris Behm tied his career-high with 13 points off the bench, while freshman Robert Jones totaled 10 points. Behm also tied his career-best with six steals, while Hyman pulled down a team-high seven rebounds.
The Mighty Macs held a 40-34 lead at the half, but the Pride (4-3) began the second half on an 8-4 to take a 45-44 lead with 15:24 left. Both teams traded baskets as Immaculata was able to grab a 70-67 lead with 0:55 remaining in the second half. After two foul shots by Malcolm Thomas cut the lead to 70-69, Behm was fouled and made one of two foul shots, but the Mighty Macs grabbed the offensive rebound and held a 71-69 lead with 0:37. Finklea was fouled on the ensuing possession and connected on one of two shots to give Immaculata a 72-69 lead with 0:20 left. But Widener pushed the game into overtime as Essien Ford connected on a three-pointer with 0:01 left.
The Pride scored the first seven points in overtime and never looked back as they claimed an 87-78 victory.
Nyere Miller led the Pride with 21 points, while Ford posted 20 points.

Immaculata Suffers Heartbreaker At Alvernia
Immaculata University men's basketball team fell to Alvernia College 59-58, in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Saturday, December 2, in Reading, PA.
Sophomore Kyle Finklea paced the Mighty Macs with 17 points, while junior Robert Jones and freshman Jayson Hyman recorded 10 points each. Jones and Finklea both pulled down a team-high five rebounds, while Finklea added three assists and Jones collected three steals. Freshman Scott Marston amassed six points and three rebounds off the bench.
Alvernia scored the first basket of the game at 19:09, but Immaculata used a 16-7 run to grab a 16-9 lead with 12:18 remaining in the opening half. It was the largest lead for both teams in the game. The Crusaders went on an 11-4 run to tie the game at 20-20 with 7:06 left. The Mighty Macs and Alvernia traded baskets down the stretch as the Crusaders took a 31-29 lead into intermission.
The second half was a similar story as no team held a lead of more than four (Alvernia 33-29) points. There were six ties and seven lead changes. Matt King's three-pointer at 2:16 gave the Crusaders a 59-56 lead, but Jones' jumper pulled Immaculata within one, 59-58, with 1:51 left. After Alvernia missed a jumper, the Mighty Macs had a chance to play for the win. Sophomore Julius Lopez' shot just rimmed out as time expired to preserve the win for the Crusaders (3-2, 1-0 PAC)
Tyrone Bradley collected a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds to lead Alvernia, while Matt King registered a team-high 15 points.
Immaculata (1-5, 1-1 PAC) returns to action on Monday, December 4, when they host Widener University. Tip-off is set for 7 pm.
Mighty Macs Win Conference Opener
Sophomore Julius Lopez's field goal with 2.5 seconds left in the game propelled Immaculata University to a 64-62 win over Arcadia University in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) action on Thursday, November 30, in Alumnae Hall. It was the conference opener for both schools.
Junior Robert Jones paced the Mighty Macs with a team-high 13 points, while sophomore Dan Lepone recorded 11. Jones and Lepone collected seven rebounds apiece. Lopez totaled nine points off the bench, including the game-winner, while sophomore Sean Fordhman scored five.
Leading 62-57 with 2:28 left, the Knights scored five consecutive points, including a lay-up by Kevin Brown with 0:21 remaining, to tie the game at 62-62. However, Lopez, who previously missed two free throws, redeemed himself with the game-winning basket at 2.5 of the second half.
Dave Boettcher recorded a double-double with 20 points and 16 rebounds to pace Arcadia (1-4, 0-1 PAC). Brown added 17 points and nine rebounds, while Terrell Vernado collected nine points off the bench.

Immaculata Falls At Wilkes
Immaculata University men's basketball team fell to Wilkes University 78-72 on Tuesday, November 27, in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
Sophomore Kyle Finklea came off the bench and recorded a season-high 19 points, while freshman Jayson Hyman totaled a career-high 18 points and pulled down seven rebounds. Sophomore Dan Lepone collected 10 points, while sophomore Julius Lopez and junior Robert Jones posted seven points each. Finklea also added a career-high five steals.
Trailing 32-24 with 6:50 left in the opening stanza, the Mighty Macs (0-4) used a 16-6 run to cut the Colonels lead to 40-38 with 0:45 left before the half. But Wilkes responded with a three-pointer to take a 43-68 lead into the half.
With 9:21 left in the second half, and down 57-56, Immaculata used a 9-1 run to grab a 65-58 lead. As the two teams traded baskets, Hyman was able to tie the game at 72-72 with 1:42 remaining, but Wilkes held the Mighty Macs scoreless down the stretch to earn the 78-72 victory.
Tom Kresge led all scorers with a game-high 20 points for Wilkes (1-0). Dan Adams amassed 11 rebounds, while Jeremy Kable and Matt Gould totaled 13 points and 10 points, respectively.
Immaculata returns to action on Thursday, November 30, when they host Arcadia University in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) opener. Tip-off is set for 8 pm.
Mighty Macs Fall In Home Opener
Immaculata University men's basketball team fell in its home opener 69-61 to Marymount University on Tuesday, November 21, in Alumnae Hall.
Freshman Robert Jones collected his first career double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds, while freshman Jayson Hyman and sophomore Julius Lopez recorded 10 points each. Lopez also added three assists and three steals, while freshman Scott Marston amassed eight points and five rebounds in his first career start.
The Indians held a 55-45 lead with 8:38 remaining in the second half, but the Mighty Macs scored the next seven points and whittled the 10-point lead down to 55-52 with 5:30 left. That would be as close as Immaculata would get as Marymount pushed its lead to 69-58 with 0:23 remaining in the second half.
Mike Gray paced Marymount (2-1) with 21 points, while Brandon Parker registered 12.
The Mighty Macs (0-3) return to action on Monday, November 27, when they face Wilkes University. Tip-off is set for 7 pm.
Immaculata Falls To McMurry 75-61
Despite a team-high 15 points off the bench by sophomore Julius Lopez, Immaculata University fell to McMurry University, 75-61, in the consolation game of the Blue Jay Classic on Saturday, November 18, in Baltimore, Maryland. The classic was held on the campus of Johns Hopkins University.
The Indians scored the game's first 16 points, before Lopez' three-pointer at 15:38 of the first half put the Mighty Macs on the board. That bucket fueled a 15-6 run by Immaculata which drew them within six points, 21-15, with 10:07 remaining in the opening stanza. However, McMurry absorbed the surge by the Mighty Masc and pushed its lead to 43-24 with 1:43 left in the first half. The Indians never looked back.
Sophomore Dan Lepone recorded 13 points, while freshman Jayson Hyman amassed 10 points, seven rebounds and four steals. Freshman Scott Marston came off the bench and provided seven points, while sophomore Sean Fordham registered three assists and two steals. Sophomore Kyle Finklea collected four rebounds.
Immaculata (0-2) returns to action on Tuesday, November 21, when they host Marymount University in the home opener. Tip-off is set for 7:30 pm.
Mighty Macs Fall In Season Opener
Immaculata University men's basketball fell in its season opener 71-58 to Johns Hopkins University in the opening round of the Blue Jay Classic on Friday, November 17. The Classic is being held on the campus of Johns Hopkins.
The Blue Jays jumped out to a 13-2 lead with 15:26 left in the first half, before the Mighty Macs cut the margin to 13-9 with 11:49 remaining. Johns Hopkins saw its lead swell to 24-17 with 1:05 left in the opening half, but IU scored the last seven points, including a three-point field goal by sophomore Kyle Finklea as time expired, to tie the game at 24-24.
Senior Kris Behm's jumper to open the second half gave the Mighty Macs their first lead, 26-24, at 19:44. A jumper by freshman Jayson Hyman at 14:22 pulled Immaculata within one, 37-36, after the Blue Jays regained the lead. However, JHU went on a 21-8 run over the next ten minutes to grab a 56-43 lead with 4:22 left. Immaculata returned the favor with an 11-1 run of its own to pull to within five, 59-54, with 2:00 remaining on the clock. But Johns Hopkins made its foul shots and held Immaculata to four points in the final two minutes to earn the 71-58 victory.
