The 2007-08 academic year marks Tom Machamer’s first year as Immaculata University’s Assistant Athletic Director. After spending one year as the Sports Information Director, he was promoted to Assistant Athletic Director in October of 2007. Machamer joined the Immaculata staff in August of 2006, following four years at New York University, where he served as the Assistant Sports Information Director.
As the Sports Information Director at Immaculata, Machamer helped in the redesign of the athletics website, as well as implementation of media guides for the various varsity sports.
As the Assistant Athletic Director, Machamer’s responsibilities include assisting the director in scheduling for all varsity programs and coordinating the student work study staff, as well as game day management. He will also serve as the recruiting coordinator.
While at NYU, Machamer served as the media liaison for the Violets at the 2004 NCAA Division III Women’s Volleyball Final Four.
A 1999 graduate of West Chester University, Machamer majored in communication studies and worked as a student assistant for three years. After his graduation from West Chester, he spent one at Elon College as an intern in the sports information office, before he joined the University of Hartford as an Assistant Sports Information Director.
Machamer, who was a former member of the CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) program committee, resides in West Chester, Pennsylvania.
