Workstudy Frequently Asked Questions
For more information, come to the Financial Aid Office in Lourdes, 2nd floor.
1. The job description doesn't appeal to me. Can I work someplace else?
Yes, you may get a job elsewhere. The job posting board is located in the Financial Aid Office (2nd floor in Lourdes) with all the positions available at Immaculata. You will need to contact the supervisor you have been assigned to and inform them that you are seeking employment in another department.
2. Can I work in more that one location?
Yes, you can work in as many different locations on campus as you feel you can handle. The only restriction is you CANNOT work more that 20 hours a week total (when you add all the hours you have worked in all the departments together, you cannot exceed 20 hours).
3. Do I complete a timesheet if I am volunteering my time to a department?
No! If you are working as a volunteer, do not hand in a timesheet. Timesheets are only for hours worked in an approved position at the college (Immaculata Student Employment Request Form has been signed by the Financial Aid Office).
4. When will I receive my first paycheck?
If you work in September, the timesheet will need to be to the Financial Aid Office by October 5th. As long as the timesheet is in the Financial Aid Office by October 5th, you will receive your first paycheck on November 1st.
5. Where do I pick-up my paycheck?
Paychecks are available on the 1st of the month in the Business office located in the basement floor of Villa Maria.
6. I want to use my work-study funds to pay down my tuition. What do I do?
If you do not have direct deposit, you will need to sign the check over to the Business Office. If you have direct deposit into a checking account, you will need to write a check payable to Immaculata. If you have direct deposit into a savings account, you will need to withdraw the funds and pay cash to Immaculata.
7. I have received my job assignment and would like to start working. What do I do now?
You must contact the supervisor you have been assigned to and they will work with you to create a schedule.
8. Is there any additional paperwork that needs to be completed prior to being paid?
Yes. You must complete your W-4 and I-9 (See the Business Office to complete these forms) and your supervisor will need to submit an Employment Request Form (Available in the Financial Aid Office).
