Financial Aid for Teacher Certification

Financial assistance in the form of a Federal Stafford student loan in the amount of $5,500 subsidized and $5,000 unsubsidized, depending on eligibility, is available for elementary and secondary teacher certification and prerequisites required to be accepted into a graduate program.

Based on the federal guidelines for student eligibility, students enrolled in postbaccalaureate teacher certification will be considered 5th year undergraduates. Enrollment must be at least half time, 6 credit hours or more.

For teacher certification programs, a Free Application for Federal Student Aid must be filed every year and 24 credits passed in the academic year in which you initially borrowed if the maximum $10,500 was borrowed.

The entire application will take about 4-6 weeks to complete. Please allow sufficient time to process your aid application prior to registration.

If you have any questions, contact the Student Financial Aid Office at 610-647-4400 ext. 3045.
