Special Research Opportunities
Immaculata University strives to prepare students for the real challenges of working in such dynamic and vital fields as those that derive from a study of criminology. To that end, the internships provide a rich opportunity to combine actual work experience with classroom knowledge. Immaculata University students gain on-site experience both observing and participating in problem solving, real-life situations in area social services from the Chester County criminal justice system to Catholic Social Services offices, drug and alcohol programs and more. As juniors, students will spend one day a week, for one full semester, in such as organization learning and working. Though optional, a second semester internship is also available. These supervised experiences are invaluable and give students a definite edge over graduates who have not had the benefit of field work.
The following list represents the field sites which criminology majors can use to fulfill a supervised semester internship:
- Project Concern - Residential Treatment for Male Juvenile Offenders, Coatesville, PA
- Chester County Juvenile and/or Adult Probation, West Chester, PA
