Criminology Minor

Rationale

A minor in Criminology provides the student with an understanding of basic Sociological concepts and processes and an opportunity to explore the professional field of criminal justice. The Criminology minor offers the opportunity for students to select courses that focus on the fundamentals of working within the criminal justice system.

Numerous governmental service jobs at various levels are open to the Sociology trained individual including police service, juvenile and adult probation/parole and corrections as well as service to the courts.
