Nursing Department BSN Admission Requirements

Requirements for admission to the College of LifeLong Learning and the ACCEL program in nursing include the following:

  1. Current R.N. licensure; graduation from an NLN accredited nursing program.
  2. In addition to nursing courses, an applicant needs to have successfully completed the following:
    • 6 credits - English Composition
    • 3 credits - Sociology
    • 3 credits - Psychology
    • 3 credits - Lifespan Development
    • 6-8 credits - Anatomy and Physiology
    • 3-4 credits - Microbiology
    • 3-4 credits - Chemistry
    • 3 credits Nutrition
  3. Grade point average of 2.0 or greater on a 4.0 scale for previous college work.
  4. Submission of a copy of current licensure, a physical examination, professional liability insurance, and current CPR certification.
  5. Personal interview.
  6. Official transcripts from all colleges and hospital schools of nursing attended.
  7. Completion of an application for admission and payment of $50 application fee.
