- Generational equity - for instance whether public funds are spent on schools or retirement homes
- Population shifts and issues of immigration
- Crime, the underprivileged, and desocialized class
- Racial diversity in a globalized America
- Environmental resources - balancing technological innovation and industrial growth with a clean environment
- Transportation and urban planning
Your training and field experience should make you immediately marketable in the job arena as well as capable of making an immediate impact on public policy. Career options would include:
- Employment in local, state, or national government
- Non-profit and not-for-profit organizations
- Advocacy groups
- Print media and broadcast journalism
- Corporations responding to government regulations
- Law enforcement or social services
