Sister Eugenie Kenney
Medal for Excellence in Education
Each year (since 1999) the Education Department awards a medal at graduation in memory of Sister Eugenie Kenney, who was a faculty member of the Education Department from 1993 until her death in December of 1998. The student recipient of the award must be someone who is receiving a degree and has completed all the requirements for certification, including student teaching. The faculty of the Education Department determine the recipient.
Criteria include:
- Scholastic Achievement (3.5 or higher)
- Commitment to the Teaching Profession
- Orientation to Service
- Ability to interact with others
- Good moral character
