Research Interests
I am an organic chemist by training. My Ph.D. research focused on the synthesis and applications of alpha-nitrosulfones as useful synthetic intermediates. Since beginning my independent academic career I have been interested in a variety of areas in organic chemistry and organic chemsitry education.
The overall theme of my reserach program is: "Making Organic Chemistry Modern". Organic chemsitry is such a dynamic and ever expanding field, that keeping up with developments can be a challenge. I am interested in developing experiments that teach fundamental concepts, but use modern methods, reagents, or teachniques to do so.
