Major in International Business Foreign Language
The International Business Foreign Language program is a collaborative effort between the Departments of Foreign Languages and Literatures and Business, Accounting, Economics. Now, more than ever, there is a great need for individuals who can understand and interact with people from other cultures. The economies of the world communities will depend on intercultural understanding, communication, and respect. This unique program was designed to respond to a critical need for the 21st century. Our program of study includes individual direction, independent study, classroom interaction, and seminar work. You will become a person who better understands the concept of a "global village," and you will be able to use your knowledge and training to become a leader in this multicultural environment.
Fluency in another language, combined with business knowledge, opens up a wide range of interesting careers and makes you more competitive in an international market. As a graduate of the IBFL program, you will have many unique job opportunities because of your bilingual abilities. Careers in industry (fashion, food, health care, manufacturing, etc.), government, training, banking, commerce, human resource management, international business, e-commerce, finance, law, intercultural communication, and hospitality are just some of the many career possibilities open to the international business foreign language graduate. Knowing a foreign language will give you an edge in any field you choose!
